Sermon Reflection: Who Is My Neighbor?
In a world where we often know people's opinions before we know their stories, Jesus challenges us to ask a different question.
In the Parable of the Good Samaritan, the lawyer asks, "Who is my neighbor?" hoping to define the limits of love. But Jesus turns the question around: "Who became a neighbor?"
Neighboring isn't about deciding who deserves our care. It's about becoming the kind of person who notices, stops, listens, and responds with compassion.

It’s was a beautiful morning at SOTH Church for our first outdoor worship service of the summer!

We always love bringing these services closer to our community that we all live in.

We’re so grateful to all who attended today and to everyone who supported with set up and the take down process. Thank You Friends…

Sermon Preview: What if neighboring is one of the deepest spiritual practices we’ve forgotten?
Inspired by the gentle wisdom of Fred Rogers, this outdoor worship service invites us to imagine the kind of neighborhood God dreams of — one shaped by kindness, presence, hospitality, and care.
In a time marked by isolation, pressure, and division, we’ll explore how simple acts of compassion and curiosity can help reshape a community and reveal the kingdom of God among us.
Because the kingdom of God grows through neighboring.

Sermon Reflection: Pentecost reminds us that God’s Spirit moves through ordinary people — creating hope, connection, and possibility where fear and division once lived. The Spirit does not erase our differences; it weaves them together into community. Young and old. Different voices. Different stories. All part of God’s work in the world.
When isolated people become a connected people, the Spirit moves in.
May we continue becoming a church that listens, welcomes, collaborates, and makes room for the Spirit to move among us and through us.
