Despite a horrendous growing season and the challenges of harvesting during coronavirus times our peach orchard in Palisade will again make available boxes of delicious peaches for our annual Peaches for ZimKidZ campaign.
You may order through the office (email or telephone) either a box for $40 or a half box for $20 and then pay by check (made out to GMPC) or cash when you pick up your order in the parking lot sometime around the end of July or early August – please do not send payment in advance. We will notify everyone in this Connections newsletter and also by email or telephone when the peach orders need to be picked up.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
Our summer Unraveled sermon series asks challenging questions:
What happens when our world falls apart? How do we press onward when our tightly-knit plans unravel into loose threads? What do we become when our identity - or the path we're on - comes undone? The series retells scriptural stories that address situations most of us have faced, relatedly if not personally.
Each story asks the same question:
• What has unraveled and/or is unraveling in this text?
• What are the results of the unraveling?
• How is God working in the midst of the unraveling?
• What might we personally glean from this story of unraveling?
This week’s story has many parallels to our coronavirus environment today: confinement, loss of the usual/the known, inability to perform life as previously practiced... We may feel as out of place as the Israelites when they were forced into exile, ripped from their homes and way of life to Babylon, where they dreamed only of returning to their former lives. But God tells them through Jeremiah to “bloom where they are planted.” Maybe when our lives unravel in transition, the friends we leave behind, the plans unrealized and the paths untraveled can become threads that stabilize us in the new place where we find ourselves. This new place can be a gift – a place of flourishing and a conduit for deep, authentic connection with self and community. There may be new roots that form just within the process of conforming to a new reality...
