Today the Church celebrates the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her nativity reminds us of God's loving plan of salvation and the hope that entered the world through her. May we follow Mary's example of faith and trust each day. Happy Birthday, Blessed Mother!

As we celebrate Labor Day, let us take a moment to recognize the dignity of every worker and the many ways their efforts help families, communities, and our church flourish.

May we always value the work of every person, seek justice for all laborers, and give thanks for the opportunity to serve God through our daily work.

Mercy Teams needs used clothing!

As the day start to turn cooler, we must think about our unhoused brothers and sisters suffering in the cold weather.

As you take out your Fall/Winter clothes, please consider donating anything that you won't be using. We are currently looking for winter clothing appropriate for those suffering from homelessness.

Please make sure that it is washed. Thank you for your generosity! 💙

As I begin serving as Youth Minister at Our Lady of the Lake, my hope is that every young person feels at home here – seen, known, loved, and growing closer to Christ alongside others.

Growing up Catholic, I was very involved in music ministry with my mom at my parish. But it wasn't until college, when I found friends who were genuinely in love with Jesus and truly wanted to know me, that I began to make the faith my own. During that time, I also grew in my understanding of Scripture and in my knowledge of Jesus and the Catholic faith. Through both that formation and those friendships, I came to understand God's deep love for me and what it means to live in relationship with Him.

That experience gave me a desire to help young people encounter Christ in a way I wish I had experienced sooner. For the past six years, my wife, Linnet, and I have had the joy of ministering to youth and young adults: three years at St. Anthony Parish and previously three years serving with Young Life in Tigard. Now, I am grateful to continue that mission here at Our Lady of the Lake.
