The world measures success by what we accomplish, accumulate, build, and become.
God measures it differently.

You can have the position and still miss His purpose.
You can have the platform and still lose His presence.
You can gain recognition and forget the One who brought you there.

King Uzziah experienced incredible success. God helped him, his influence grew, and his name became known.

But Scripture says:
“But when he was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction.”
2 Chronicles 26:16

So what does success actually look like in the Kingdom?

1. SUCCESS IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORD
“To obey is better than sacrifice.”
1 Samuel 15:22

If accomplishing the goal requires compromising our obedience, it isn't success.

2. SUCCESS IS FAITHFULNESS, NOT FAME
Heaven isn't looking for famous servants. Heaven is looking for faithful ones.

Jesus didn't say, “Well done, good and successful servant.”

He said:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Matthew 25:21

Faithfulness with what God has placed in your hands is success.

3. SUCCESS IS REACHING THE ONE GOD SENDS
Jesus left the ninety-nine for one. Philip followed the Spirit into the wilderness for one.

Never become so focused on reaching crowds that you overlook the person God placed directly in front of you.
Sometimes success looks like a crowd.

Sometimes it looks like one conversation, one prayer, one act of obedience, one person encountering Jesus.

4. SUCCESS IS CONTENTMENT IN CHRIST
“I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.”
Philippians 4:11

Contentment doesn't mean we stop growing, dreaming, or believing for more.
It means “more” is no longer required for us to be fulfilled.

Jesus is enough.

So maybe the question isn't, “Am I successful?”

Maybe it's:
Am I obedient?
Am I faithful?
Am I reaching the people God sends me?
Am I content in Christ?

Because one day, the platform, applause, titles, and numbers won't matter.

What will matter is hearing:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

That is the true measure of success.

Saying “I’m sorry” matters… but there’s a difference between being sorry and being repentant.

We can feel bad about what happened.
We can regret the consequences.
We can even apologize sincerely.

But biblical repentance goes further.

True repentance produces change.

It doesn’t just say, “I wish that hadn’t happened.”

It asks, “What needs to change in me so this doesn’t continue?”

2 Corinthians 7:10 tells us that godly sorrow produces repentance.

In other words, sorrow was never meant to be the destination… it should lead us somewhere.

Repentance takes responsibility.
Repentance stops making excuses.
Repentance changes direction.
Repentance produces fruit.

And that doesn’t mean perfection. It means there is a new direction.

Maybe one of the greatest marks of spiritual maturity is becoming less concerned with proving we’re sorry and more committed to allowing God to change us.

An apology acknowledges what happened… Repentance changes what happens next.

“Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.” - Matthew 3:8

Join us tonight at 7 PM for Equip Night as we continue a verse-by-verse journey through the powerful Book of James.

Though it's only five chapters long, James is packed with practical wisdom that challenges us to live out our faith every day.

To help us grow together, we've created a digital study guide that you can follow throughout the series.

We'll begin the evening with a time of worship, then dive into God's Word as we study, discuss, and apply the Book of James together.

We're believing this series will be another opportunity for Supernatural Spiritual Growth, and we'd love for you to be part of it.

See you tonight at 7 PM!

Pressure gives a microphone to what is growing in our heart.

Verse Of The Day:
For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
»James 3:2

A Thought To Remember:
Spiritual maturity is often revealed by what comes out of us when life does not go the way we want.

THE SOUND OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Spiritual growth is visible in how we live… but it can also be heard in how we speak.

Jesus said, “What you say flows from what is in your heart.” >>Luke 6:45

Our words reveal what’s growing within us.

If bitterness is growing, eventually we’ll hear it.

If offense is growing, eventually we’ll hear it.

If fear is growing, eventually we’ll hear it.

But if Jesus is truly transforming us…

Grace should have a sound.
Honor should have a sound.
Humility should have a sound.
Gratitude should have a sound.
Faith should have a sound.
Forgiveness should have a sound.

And sometimes the clearest evidence of what’s really inside of us comes when life applies pressure.

Pressure gives a microphone to whatever has been growing in our heart.

But our words don’t only reveal what’s growing in us… they can plant what begins growing in someone else.

One conversation can plant:
Faith or fear.
Honor or dishonor.
Unity or division.
Grace or offense.
Healing or hurt.

That’s why spiritual maturity doesn’t only ask, “Is what I’m saying true?”

It also asks, “What could my words produce in the person hearing them?”

Supernatural Spiritual Growth isn’t learning how to make an immature heart sound mature. It’s allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our heart until maturity becomes the natural sound of our lives.

So instead of leaving asking, “Who needed to hear that?” maybe we need to ask:

“Holy Spirit, what are You showing me about me?”

Listen to how you speak when you’re frustrated.

Listen to how you respond when you’re corrected.

Listen to how you talk about people who have hurt you.

Listen to what comes out when life doesn’t go your way.

Because eventually, what’s happening in our heart will make its way to our mouth.

Supernatural Spiritual Growth has a sound.

The question is…
What does my spiritual growth sound like?
