Apostle’s Corner: Serving Family with Joy

Family is often the first place where God teaches believers the true meaning of servanthood. In 1 Peter 4:8-9, Peter encourages Christians to maintain fervent love for one another and to show hospitality without complaining. Serving family with joy is not always easy because familiarity can sometimes create frustration, misunderstandings, and unmet expectations. Yet God calls His people to love deeply, forgive freely, and serve willingly.

Joyful service begins when we recognize that caring for our family is not merely a responsibility, it is a ministry entrusted to us by God. Whether providing encouragement, meeting practical needs, offering patience during difficult moments, or extending grace when offenses occur, each act of service reflects the love of Christ. When believers serve their family with gratitude rather than obligation, the home becomes a place where God’s presence is evident.

Peter reminds us that love covers a multitude of sins. This means that joy in serving grows when forgiveness outweighs resentment and compassion overcomes criticism. A family strengthened by joyful service becomes a testimony of God’s grace, demonstrating that Christ centered love is not only preached but practiced every day.

Apostle’s Corner “Bonus Edition:” Positioning for Prosperity

Prosperity in the Kingdom of God is not merely measured by financial increase, but by living in alignment with God’s principles that open the door for His favor, provision, and blessings. In Luke 6:36-38, Jesus teaches that the way believers treat others directly impacts what they receive from God. Positioning for prosperity begins with a heart that reflects God’s character and follows His instructions.

1. Prosperity Begins with Mercy, Luke 6:36.

Jesus teaches that mercy is a characteristic of those who desire to walk in God’s favor. A merciful person extends compassion, forgiveness, and grace to others just as God has shown mercy to them. When believers operate in mercy, they position themselves to receive God’s continued mercy and blessings.

God prospers hearts that reflect His nature. Mercy creates room for healthy relationships, peace, and divine favor, Matthew 5:7.

2. Prosperity Requires Releasing Judgment, Luke 6:37

Many people hinder their own progress by holding bitterness, offense, and criticism toward others. Jesus teaches that forgiveness and grace are keys to spiritual freedom. Releasing judgment allows believers to move forward without the burden of resentment and opens the door for God’s restoration in their lives.

A forgiving heart is fertile ground for God’s blessings because it reflects trust in God’s justice rather than personal retaliation, Mark 11:25.

3. Prosperity Flows Through Generosity, Luke 6:38.

Jesus reveals a Kingdom principle: generosity produces increase. Giving involves more than finances; it includes giving love, encouragement, kindness, service, and resources. God promises that those who give with the right spirit will experience abundance according to His measure.

Kingdom prosperity is rooted in stewardship and generosity. God entrusts more to those who faithfully use what they have to bless others, Proverbs 11:25.

Positioning for prosperity requires believers to embrace mercy, practice forgiveness, and live with generosity. Luke 6:36-38 teaches that the measure we use toward others becomes the measure returned to us. When we reflect God’s heart and follow His principles, we place ourselves in a position to receive His abundant blessings, favor, and provision.

Apostle’s Corner: Open My Eyes to the Needs Around Me

When Saul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus, his physical sight was taken away, but God was preparing to open his spiritual eyes. Acts 9:18 declares, “Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once.” Saul’s restored vision was more than a miracle, it was a transformation of perspective. Before Christ, he saw people as enemies to be persecuted; afterward, he saw them as souls in need of God’s grace.

Likewise, believers often move through life focused on personal responsibilities, challenges, and ambitions, while overlooking the needs surrounding them. God desires to remove the spiritual scales that prevent us from seeing the hurting, the lonely, the discouraged, and the overlooked. When our eyes are opened by the Holy Spirit, we begin to recognize opportunities to serve, encourage, pray for, and bless others. True servanthood begins when we see people the way Christ sees them with compassion, purpose, and love.

Blessings,
