Justice requires shared knowledge.
Movements endure because people document, teach, and preserve what works.

Today, as economic inequity widens and systems grow more complex, knowledge management must be part of our justice toolkit.

Our Meet the Moment framework has become a place of deep connection with UUs who have wisdom to share about a wide range of needs and hopes for the faith. Our initial round of wave cohorts have informed our risk management work, encouraged expansion of gatherings for solidarity and support among trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse UUs, and surfaced possible new models for congregational administration.

On Saturday, June 20 during General Assembly this year, we’ll have a special opportunity to continue sharing wisdom in our dynamic and engaging Wave Cohort format. Whether you participate in GA from home, join in one of our community gathering or satellite sites, or come to the studio site in Louisville, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of Wave Cohorts with topics ranging from the future of religious education, to creative staffing, to faithful organizing for democracy, and more.

We hope you will join us at GA this year and take a deep dive into one of these topics as together we explore how to meet this moment with courage, integrity, and skill.

The larger fellowship…

It has never been easy to be a person of progressive faith, especially in a time when Christian Nationalist ideas are so pervasive and religious practice can be manipulated in service to power and greed. Even in these painful times, let us remain steadfast in our Unitarian Universalist identity, confident in our knowing that our covenantal faith and practices, grounded in shared values, offer so much of what is needed to minister to this beautiful and struggling world.

As a people of a freely chosen faith centered on love, what spiritual teachings keep us grounded in the work? What comforts us in times of struggle? What moves us to make room for others’ perspectives and experiences in our own understandings of life? Treasure those resources. Celebrate them for the spiritual development that they offer. Above all else, share them with each other, for we become more than we were when we journey together.
