Sometimes we are called to go wide and sometimes we are called to go deep. When it comes to student employment, we believe that depth is what counts and makes the most impact. Since 2023, we have had 29 students go through our CREW internship program. Nine of those students have gone through it twice and eight of them have aged up and now work for Bridges through Frozen Sandlot and/or Kokomo Little Links.
We could not do this without Community First Bank. Bridges covers and teaches interview skills, resume building, communicating in the workplace and how to find and keep a job. CFB teaches financial literacy and covers checking/savings accounts, credit, debt and budgeting. The model has been super successful because we meet students in middle school, then they join Crew at 14 or 15 years old. When they turn 16 years old, then they are eligible to start working and getting paid at Bridges. Some students even come back and work at Bridges when they are on college breaks.
We believe that Bridges is called to build up the next generation of strong workers spiritually, emotionally, mentally and financially. We are extremely proud of our student interns and workers!

We had a successful first week at our after school programs, engaging with 110 students across four different schools. We are thankful for our students, our families and our staff for their participation and support!!

We are still accepting donations for our Snack Drive. Our after-school programming has begun this week, and we are pleased to report a notable increase in student participation compared to last year. So, keep those snack donations coming in!!

Last field trip of the summer! Our annual trip to Lake Rochester was a success! Thank you to all the donors for providing the boats and lunch for our crew! Our students were blessed by your generosity!

Thank you to Dave Trine for giving Bridges the opportunity to volunteer for the “250 Minutes of Fun” event for the City of Kokomo! We had a few current students, as well as former students volunteering with us! It was a great day and a great turnout!

Support Our Students: Help Replenish Our Snack Closet! We serve over 300 students weekly and our supplies are depleted. Our office, located at 208 N Main St, Kokomo, is open Monday-Thursday from 9:00A-3:00P for snack donations. Alternatively, you can contribute monetarily by mailing a check to our office or donating online via credit card. We appreciate your help!!

Shout out to Andy Hardie, our Bridges Board Chairman! Not only did he buy Bridges students tickets to Curtain Call's "Peter Pan," but then he gave a performance of a lifetime as George Darling. Great voice, suburb acting and super generous to invite us to attend. Thank you so much for all you do for Bridges and our community!

On our third field trip for our Summer Slam program, we loaded up the vans and headed to Chick-Fil-A for lunch and then to for mini golf & shaved ice! Thank you Kayden at KLL for being a great host for us! Remember that when you visit KLL, every dollar spent goes to Bridges Outreach to expand our programs for our students.
