At our recent annual meeting, the Community of St. Ninian made a decision that it is not feasible for us to continue as an incorporated legal entity. We are aging and also have other demands on our time and life energy. We are facing the reality that we don’t have the capacity to continue as we have in the past. Pursuant to that, we are currently in the process of dissolving our corporation. Our website has been taken down. We will continue as an informal group for study, worship, fellowship, and service, but will no longer be able to receive tax exempt donations or to provide financial assistance as we have in the past. We are beyond grateful for everything that we have been able to accomplish during the last three-plus decades and for the many ways that you have supported us through these years. Your prayers, financial support, and physical assistance with our many projects have far surpassed what we could have imagined back in 1991.

And don’t worry; we still know how to have fun! The ice cream social will continue and is scheduled for Saturday, July 18 at Victor Ashe Park. Mark your calendar; details to come. We understand that Randy is already planning what varieties of ice cream he will be making. πŸ™‚

The first meeting of what would become the Community of St. Ninian took place on September 20, 1991. Last evening we celebrated the 34th anniversary of the community by serving dinner for the guests of Family Promise at Church of the Good Shepherd. Our anniversary coincides with the Feast of St. Ninian (generally observed on September 16).

On Friday we shared the Ritual of Letting Go and Sending Forth for Bill and Ron. They have been participants for many years and are moving out of Tennessee. We will miss them, but wish them all the best in their new adventures. ❀️ It was a good goodbye.

We had a great time at the ice cream social today. The weather was beautiful, the people were beautiful, and both the ice cream and the fellowship were great. Close to 80 people attended.
