Good Morning, West Towne! It’s Sunday!

Life is busy. There’s always another task to finish, somewhere to go, or something demanding our attention.

But what if one of the most spiritual things we can do is simply… stop?

This morning, we continue our Garden City: Work, Rest, and the Art of Being Human series as we talk about Sabbath + Rest—God’s invitation to slow down, receive our limits, and trust Him enough to stop.

And remember, we now have TWO opportunities to worship together! 🙌

⏰ 9:15 AM & 10:45 AM

Come as you are, bring someone with you, and join us this morning as we worship, connect, and discover the gift of Sabbath together.

Can’t make it in person? Join us online at followjesus.org, or on our YouTube channel!

A lot is happening at West Towne, so there’s plenty to talk about around the table this week!

On this week’s Table Talk Podcast, we’re talking about:

Our move to two services — why we’re making the change, what we’re excited about, and what it means for our church family.

Looking ahead to Sabbath — As we continue our Garden City series, we start the conversation about what it means to stop, rest, and trust God in a culture that constantly tells us to do more.

Whether you’ve been wondering about the move to two services or you’re already thinking, “I could probably use some Sabbath in my life…”, this is a great episode to check out. https://youtu.be/3XVyZx7mFuQ

Ten years in, and the excitement is at an all-time high. Not because of human effort, but because of what God is doing in and through West Towne. Join us as we step into this season of change and celebrate what He's about to do. Check out this week's Table Talk Podcast https://youtu.be/3XVyZx7mFuQ

Work is one of the most universal human experiences, and yet it is also one of the most misunderstood. Most people carry a vague sense that work is supposed to be meaningful, but in practice it often feels exhausting, frustrating, and thankless. If you have ever wondered why work is so hard, or whether God even cares about what you do from nine to five, this sermon is for you. https://youtu.be/x9ozLyAsedM?t=1099

This Sunday is an exciting day at West Towne as we officially move to two worship services!

🕘 9:15 AM
🕥 10:45 AM

We’re thankful for what God is doing in our church, and we’re excited to make room for more, more people to worship, more opportunities to serve, and more space to invite someone to come and experience Jesus with us.

And we’re kicking things off in a special way!

Family Sunday — Our K–5th graders will worship with us in the service.

Breakfast Between Services — Stick around after the first service or come early for the second and enjoy breakfast together!

Two services. One church. One mission. One King.

Who can you invite to join you this Sunday?

The thorns are real. The exhaustion is real. But so is the fruit. Whatever your calling—teacher, parent, professional- God is using your work to reveal His kingdom. Don't just survive your job; see how God is working through it.

Good Morning, West Towne! It’s Sunday!

Have you ever had one of those weeks where work definitely felt like a curse?

This morning, we’re continuing our Garden City: Work, Rest, and the Art of Being Human series with:

WORK ISN’T CURSED

Work was actually part of God’s good design before sin entered the picture. So if work isn’t the curse… what went wrong? And what would it look like to rediscover God’s purpose for the work He’s given us to do?

Whether your work happens in an office, a classroom, at home, on a job site—or somewhere completely different—this conversation is for you.

We’d love to worship with you this morning at 10:30 AM!

Is Work a Curse?

It can certainly feel like it sometimes. 😅

The alarm goes off. The emails pile up. The laundry never ends. Monday is already waiting for us.

But what if work itself isn’t the problem?

This Sunday, we continue our Garden City: Work, Rest, and the Art of Being Human series with “Work Isn’t Cursed.”

Long before sin entered the world, God gave humanity work to do. Work was part of His good design from the very beginning.

So what changed? And how can we rediscover God’s purpose for the work we do—whether it happens at an office, a job site, a classroom, or around the house?

Join us tomorrow as we dig into it together!

Did you know there’s actually a beard reference in a prophecy about Jesus?

📖 “I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard…” — Isaiah 50:6

While the Bible never gives us a physical description that simply says, “Jesus had a beard,” Isaiah’s prophecy about the suffering Messiah certainly gives us good reason to picture Him with one!

Today, though, we’re celebrating beards under much happier circumstances.

In honor of World Beard Day, let’s see yours! 👇

Post your best beard picture in the comments—or tag someone at West Towne who deserves some beard recognition!

And since we’re in our Garden City series talking about what it means to be human, here’s your reminder that God created us as real, physical people—and apparently, for some of us, that includes an impressive amount of facial hair.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” — Psalm 139:14
