Today, we celebrate the feast of St. Teresa of Kolkata (Mother Teresa), a humble servant of the poorest of the poor. May her example inspire us to love radically, serve humbly, and see Christ in everyone we meet.

Our parish in Maynardville is named in her honor. You can also find a statue of her in the narthex of the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

September 15 - October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month. And the Catholic Church in the United States has a lot to celebrate when it comes to our Hispanic community! About 36% of Catholics in the U.S. are Hispanic, a number that rises to a whopping 60% when we consider Catholics under the age of 18!

Here at All Saints, we are grateful for the contributions and presence of all of our parishioners with roots in the Spanish-speaking world, and we encourage you to start making plans to celebrate today!

Hey All Saints, ever wonder how "Gregorian Chant," the unaccompanied, monophonic singing of sacred songs in Latin, got its name? Well, the style was formalized and promoted by St. Gregory the Great, a 7th-century pope whose feast day we celebrate today.

The Sacred Heart Cathedral is excited to invite local parishes to Movie Night with a Priest, featuring the film “Risen” on Friday, September 18th, at Sacred Heart in the Cathedral Hall.

The evening will begin with food and a social gathering at 5pm, followed by the movie screening at 6pm. A Q&A and discussion with Father Michael Cummins will follow the screening.

An era really has come to an end for the Knoxville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.

A farewell reception for Patty Johnson was held on July 22 as the lay organization’s longtime leader has relocated with her husband to Nashville. Mrs. Johnson has served the CCW for decades, including as diocesan CCW president, director of the Louisville Province CCW, and president of the National Council for Catholic Women.

Double the joy on August 29th! Join us in wishing a very happy 6th Ordination Anniversary to two priests in our diocese who share the exact same ordination day. We are deeply grateful for their joyful witness, pastoral devotion, and generous hearts!

🕊️ Father Alexander Hernandez Ordained on August 29, 2020, Father Hernandez was raised in East Tennessee, with Our Lady of Fatima in Alcoa as his home parish. After nine years of seminary formation at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis, he began his priesthood at All Saints Parish in Knoxville, where he served faithfully for nearly four years. Today, he serves as Parochial Vicar at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul in Chattanooga, bringing his vibrant faith and pastoral care to the heart of downtown.

✝️ Father Zachary Griffith Ordained on August 29, 2020, at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Father Griffith has brought energy, empathy, and steadfast faith to every community he serves. He spent four years as associate pastor at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Chattanooga, served at St. Mary in Johnson City and as chaplain for the ETSU Catholic Center, and leads as chaplain for the diocesan Courage and EnCourage ministries. Today, he serves as Parochial Administrator at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Greeneville.

Please join us in praying for Father Griffith and Father Hernandez today, and let us continue to pray that more young men answer the call to the priesthood!
