Hey homeschooling mommas! I made an announcement about this several meetings ago, but I wanted to share on here for those who weren’t at the meeting I announced at.
I wanted to let you know about an exciting Bible study opportunity for both moms and your kiddos that will likely become available this September (2020-2021 school year). Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) is a non-denominational, in-depth study of God’s word; the study occurs in 43 different countries and blesses hundreds of thousands of children and adults. The kids are not just in ‘childcare’, but are truly engaged--learning and singing Truths about God’s word. In the years we have participated, I have learned so much and been amazed and blessed by what my kiddos have absorbed from their time in the preschool program at BSF, even when they were very young.
There are several class times for women, men, and children in Knoxville you can check out, but the morning class that is housed at Fellowship Church (near Middlebrook Pike/Gallaher View Dr) has been praying to expand their class to accommodate school-age homeschooled children, in addition to the babies/preschoolers that they currently serve. God seems to be answering that prayer, and the class administrators are hoping to GAUGE INTEREST for the class that they prayerfully HOPE will begin in Sept. 2020! While they MAY NOT be able to accommodate kids of ALL grades (Kindergarten through High School) this first year, they will try to serve as many children as they can and then grow as they are able. Class will be on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11am; you drop off your kiddos in the preschool or school-aged classes, then go to a small discussion group and then a lecture while the kids are learning from the same book of the Bible at a developmentally-appropriate level. There are some great free resources there, and it may further explain BSF and help you prayerfully consider whether you and your kiddos ages 0+ might be interested in joining on Wednesday mornings next school year.
If you DO want to consider it for next year, simply email Melissa McKay, the class administrator, at: [email protected]. Give her your name, phone #, child(ren)s’ current age(s), grade(s) they will be in next year (and include any babies/toddlers/preschoolers you might be bringing along). This does NOT commit you to the class, but simply lets them know that you might be interested so they can try to plan accordingly.
BSF is an in-depth, interdenominational Bible study that helps people know God and equips them to effectively serve the Church throughout the world.
