As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, many Christians are asking important questions about faith, citizenship, patriotism, and public life. How should followers of Christ think about the relationship between our faith and our national identity?

Join us for a four-week course, Let's Talk About Christian Nationalism, presented by The Foundry at Candler School of Theology and hosted in partnership with First Presbyterian Church's Global Missions Committee.

Yesterday folks gathered for the final John Knox Center listening session, led by the Outdoor Ministry Team. Twenty-five participants from seven congregations came together to share their questions, concerns, and—most importantly—their hopes for the future of John Knox Center.

We are grateful to the Outdoor Ministry Team for organizing these conversations and to everyone across the presbytery who took the time to attend and share their perspectives. Your voices are helping shape the path forward.

Yesterday and today commissioners to the 227th General Assembly from presbyteries in the Synod of Living Waters gathered in Franklin, Tennessee for a GA orientation. The orientation was led in part by our General Presbyter, Wendy Neff. Please be in prayer for our commissioners and those from across the denomination as they prepare for General Assembly in Milwaukee this summer.

Some days in presbytery life just feel especially full in all the best ways. Today at Presbytery of East Tennessee’s meeting at Washington Presbyterian Church, we shared homemade apple butter, beautiful music, learning, worship, and community. We welcomed two ministers and two temporary members into the life of the presbytery, gathered for workshops, and heard from the CEO of Ijams Nature Center. Grateful for the ways God keeps weaving us together in ministry and mission.

Last week Wendy completed her final Presbyterian Leader Formation gathering through the Association of Mid Council Leaders — a three-year journey of learning, collaboration, worship, and friendship alongside fellow mid council leaders from across the denomination.

She returns to the Presbytery of East Tennessee grateful for this community, inspired by the wisdom shared, and energized for the work ahead with all of us. Please join us in giving thanks for this meaningful season of growth and connection! ✨

It's graduation weekend for Maryville College and today they had their Baccalaureate Service led in part by Rev. Jessica Lewis, Chaplain and Campus Ministry Director and minister member of the Presbytery of East Tennessee.
