Obedience is better than sacrifice.
1 Samuel 15:22
And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."
Many times God will give you a test. Just like Abraham, Moses, Noah , Jonah, etc……
Abraham didn’t want to sacrifice is son but he was obedient enough to do it. Moses was not a good speaker and asked that God use someone else. God chose him and asked would he do it. He did as God commanded. Noah and his family built the ark in the middle of chaos, persecution from others laughing and mocking him but who was faithful til the end when the rains came? Noah . Jonah wasn’t obedient the first time around and he ran from God. He didn’t want souls to be saved in Nineveh. It wasn’t until he kept running away that he couldn’t hide anymore, ended up 3 days in the rotten stinch of a Great fish’s belly but God spared him. He was saved and went to Nineveh like he should have the first time.
Sometimes we don’t want to do particular things that can potentially may hurt others, but who are we to say no to God? God knows us best. He knows details that we have no idea about and sometimes all He wants just like Abraham is the answer Yes. I will do as You have said Lord. When God asks you to do something what will be your answer? Will you do it or will you run and hide?
