Caring God, this midweek we pause to pray for the Alzheimer’s community. Please help us to surround victims of this disease with the right medical teams, care teams, and loved ones. Please reach into the brain fog, physical decline, agitation, and fear to care for your children in ways that we cannot.

Loving God, please support the caregivers who suffer exhaustion, frustration, sorrow, financial stress, grief, and loss. This disease overshadows normal life, and caregivers can feel so lost. Please help to support and supervise all the institutions that provide care. Please help our society to reconsider how we care for the ill and aging. We are not doing our best.

Loving God, we pray for a cure for this illness. We ask for your blessing on the scientists and researchers who study this disease. We pray that resources will be available to support research.

Thank you for hearing our pleas and walking with us on this difficult path. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen

Family Worship! At St. Andrews, worship is for all ages. Little ones develop faith by seeing it in action. We have quiet activities for children to use in the pews or at the tables in the sanctuary. If you feel your little one needs a break, there is an activity room in the education wing. The room has a speaker so that you can hear the service (volume adjustment on the wall by the door). The children’s church room outside the sanctuary (inviting yellow room) is also a great space, but it does not have a speaker. Thank you for worshipping at SAPC. We are a richer community when we worship with children.

Susan May preached from Psalm 8 and Matthew 28:16-20 on Trinity Sunday. The Trinity is the central mystery of our faith. How can God be Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Three-in-One and One-in-Three? While Scripture points us repeatedly to a Triune God, the name Trinity is not actually in the Bible. Study Scripture, pray for understanding, but rest in the assurance that the incomprehensible nature of God is love, grace, and communion. Jesus has promised to be with us until the end of the age. As finite beings, we cannot fully understand the infinite, but we can rest in the assurance that God is Good!

Gracious God, we pause this midweek to pray for all the children in this community. Please surround them with safe, caring adults in their homes, daycares, and summer camps. Please help these freer summer days to be safe and restorative for children and families. Please help those who support families with food insecurity to meet their needs.

We know that how we treat the most vulnerable among us is always visible to you. We ask for both your support and your grace. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
