What a Sunday at Living Hope! 🙌

From worship and baptisms to our kids Diving In, an incredible word from Elder Steve Schaefer on Romans 13, and some seriously delicious pork butt from our youth fundraiser. Today was full of joy, fellowship, and the goodness of God! ❤️

Thank you, Elder Steve, for reminding us what it looks like to live under authority, while ultimately being overruled by love. And what a joy to celebrate a sweet baptism, invest in our kids and youth, worship together, and serve one another as a church family.

We’re so grateful for Sundays like this. What a beautiful day to be the church! ⛪️

Do we really have to respect government leaders we don’t respect? What if we didn’t vote for them? What if we think they’re flat-out wrong? And seriously – God wants us to pay taxes too?!

Romans 13 takes us straight into politics, authority, obedience, taxes, trust – and ultimately love! So where does our allegiance belong? How should Christians respond when government frustrates us? And what happens when politics becomes an idol?

This Sunday at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM, we’re going there! Romans 13 may challenge us – but it also points us back to Jesus, grace, trust, and God’s way to live.

Jesus calls us to more than simply knowing about Him — We are called to follow Him.

The way of Christ is narrow, costly, and worth everything. May we never take His invitation for granted, but earnestly seek Him and walk faithfully in His ways.

“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door…” Luke 13:24

This weekend, Living Hope Church celebrated the life of our dear friend, charter member, and faithful servant of the Lord, Dave Woityra.

For decades, Dave faithfully served the Lord and this church in countless ways. He shared his musical gifts on the worship team, playing saxophone and other wind instruments, and he faithfully served behind the scenes as well, caring for the church campus, facility needs, landscaping, and more. Dave payed attention to the details that often go unnoticed. He loved the house of God and God’s people.

That being said, friends and family shared over the weekend that what many of us will remember most about Dave was the way he made people feel. Dave was a friend to all. His smile and laughter were contagious, he always had a joke to share, and he never seemed to run out of stories to tell. He was a faithful man of God, a loving husband, a devoted father, and a blessing to so many in our church and community.

Dave will be deeply missed by the Living Hope family. We grieve with hope, knowing that Dave is now in the presence of our Father in Heaven, joining the song of the angels, and giving worship and glory to God. He gave his all in worship of the Lord while here on earth, but now he does so face-to-face with Jesus.

We praise God for Dave’s life, his faithful witness, and the many ways he showed the love of Christ to all around him. We are grateful for the years we were blessed to call him our brother, friend, and fellow servant. We’ll see you soon, Dave! 🕊️

What does God’s Kingdom look like – and why does Jesus compare it to mustard seeds, yeast, narrow doors, and tie it into a conversation about a fox and a hen? Who’s really “in”? Who might surprisingly be “out”? Why does Jesus keep moving toward Jerusalem when He knows exactly what awaits Him there?

In Luke 13:18–35, Jesus reveals a Kingdom that starts small, grows powerfully, requires a response, overturns expectations, and is driven by God’s relentless love for His people!

Join us Sunday, at 9:30 AM or 11:00 AM – ready to wrestle with some hard questions – and hear some incredibly Great News!

Jesus reminds us to pay attention, not so we live in fear, but so that in faith we remain watchful, anticipating His return.

Be encouraged today to stay close to the One who promises to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your heart open and tender towards Him (Ezekiel 36:26). And trust that He is working (Romans 8:28).

**“How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?” — Luke 12:56**

Take heart. God is with you. He will guide you through these times (Isaiah 58:11). 🤍

What happens when Jesus starts talking about fire, weather forecasts, repentance, fig trees, and a woman who hasn’t stood straight up in 18 years? Apparently, A LOT! What time is it spiritually? Are we reading the signs – or just checking the forecast? Why is repentance actually a positive? How patient is God when our lives aren’t producing much fruit? And what happens when Jesus encounters someone bound and burdened?

Join us this Sunday at 9:30 AM or 11:00 AM, as Luke 12:49-13:17 confronts us, comforts us, and points us to the urgent, patient, freeing grace of Jesus Christ!
