As we begin Pride Month, I find myself filled with gratitude for Trinity United Methodist Church and the witness she has offered for so many years.
Long before welcome became popular, Trinity chose courage. Long before inclusion became a common conversation, Trinity was already doing the hard and holy work of making room at the table. Through changing times, difficult conversations, and moments when standing for love came at a cost, this congregation has remained resilient, steadfast, and committed to the dignity and worth of every person.
Pride Month is a celebration, but it is also a reminder. It reminds us that the journey toward justice is never finished. It reminds us that visibility matters, belonging matters, and that every person deserves to know they are loved exactly as they are.
As Trinity's pastor, I am honored to serve a church whose story is marked by courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to our LGBTQ+ siblings. I am proud of who we have been, proud of who we are becoming, and hopeful for the future we continue to build together.
In a world that too often seeks to divide, diminish, or exclude, Trinity continues to bear witness to a different way - a way rooted in love, justice, and community.
This Pride Month, we celebrate the resilience of those who have paved the way, the courage of those who continue the work, and the beautiful diversity that makes God's family whole.
Let this month be a reminder that God's love knows no bounds, and neither should ours.
Happy Pride, Trinity!
