APRIL IS AUTISM ACCEPTANCE MONTH.
Now some label this month as awareness month and there is great value in greater awareness in all autism related. But it takes more than just being aware to create a world where autistic people feel like they belong and have a seat at the table. It takes acceptance of autistic individuals to truly create churches and places that really do welcome all Neurotypes not just to attend but also to lead as clergy and lay leaders.

We encourage you to consider attending this day of learning put on by Nazarene Theological Seminary and NurturingCare!

Nurturing Care Day of Learning
April 13, 2026
Nazarene Theological Seminary
Livestream Available

Autistic children and adults often experience church as an unwelcoming space. Families arrive with hope and leave discouraged. Faithful leaders want to respond with compassion, but many are unsure where to begin.

Join Dr. Melody V. Escobar for a half-day of theological reflection and practical tools designed to help churches move from accommodation to belonging.

You’ll explore:
• What true belonging looks like in congregational life
• How to partner with schools and community organizations
• Why respite care matters
• Practical steps your church can implement immediately

Schedule
8:30 AM Registration and Coffee
9:00–12:00 Presentation
12:00–1:00 Lunch provided. RSVP required.

Attend in person in Kansas City or join via livestream.

Register today at www.nts.edu/dayoflearning

Let’s build churches known for compassionate, faithful care.

It’s not often that Jesse and I get together since we’re at opposite sides of the nation, but when we do, it’s a great reminder of why we started this group.

- We don’t have to be alone as neurodiverse clergy.
- We want others to feel the same.
- The next generation of leaders are more in tune and aware of neurodiversity than we ever were.

And my favorite: We get to meet so many neurodiverse clergy members and leaders who are helping us all to see that how we are “different” is what makes the world a beautiful place.

Thank you all for being a part of this with us.

Pray for us and each other.
