We provide an outdoor camp experience in the beauty of the Flint Hills, based in faith.

Tomah Shinga is a native Kaw Indian phrase meaning “shining water.” The camp name was inspired by Lyons Creek which borders the camp on the west. Camp Tomah Shinga is geographically one of the largest ELCA camps in the United States. The camp is located in the historic and scenic Flint Hills which surround Geary County, Kansas.

We’re excited to introduce our NEW Day Camp program at Camp Tomah Shinga!

Day Camp is the perfect opportunity for campers to experience the fun, friendships, faith, and adventure of camp—without the commitment of staying overnight. From games and activities to worship and time outdoors, campers will get a true camp experience during the day and head home each evening.

It’s Summer Staff Sunday! ☀

Today we’re excited to introduce our incredible Counselors for Summer 2026! These counselors are getting ready to lead cabins, build relationships, share their faith, and create unforgettable memories with campers all summer long.

Their energy, leadership, and heart for ministry are going to make a huge impact, and we cannot wait to see all that God has in store through this team.

NEW THIS SUMMER: Day Camp at Camp Tomah Shinga! Campers will enjoy classic camp activities, make new friends, and create camp memories, while still going home each night. If you live close to camp around Junction City, there has never been a better time for your kids to experience camp. All kids age 5-10 are welcome. Lunch is provided! Invite your friends, and we'll see you there!

What an incredible night at our 2026 auction Saturday! We are so grateful for everyone who attended, donated items, volunteered their time, and supported this event in any way.
