Covenant Presbyterian Church (Johnson City, TN)

Covenant Presbyterian Church (Johnson City, TN) Covenant Presbyterian Church exists to glorify and enjoy God.... Most of all, our church is characterized by our hospitality.

Covenant Presbyterian is a closely-knit community church who gather in central Johnson City to worship, teach, learn and share our lives. We are committed to nurturing our Christian faith and challenging ourselves to seek and fulfill God's calling to our church. Covenant Presbyterian is a community of doers, people who generously put our God-given gifts to work in service to the church and wider community. Whether leading worship, cooking meals or pulling weeds, our congregation devotes itself to serving Johnson City in the spirit and love of Jesus Christ. We welcome the voices, gifts, ideas and energy brought into the lives of our church family, and seek to share the love and care of God with everyone.

September welcomes us again to our annual Season of PEACE!
This year, we'll be learning from the 'Teacher' of Ecclesiastes, beginning with a lesson from 1:1-11.
We pray the blessing of peace be with you; and also with you!

For those interested, the book referenced as having been part of the inspiration for this series is "For Such a Time as This: An Emergency Devotional" by Hanna Reichel.

Grace and Peace!
Our gospel lesson comes from Matthew 2:1-12 this morning. Herod is the next tyrant on our list, but the wisemen are ready to show us 'another way' of faithful living. May we too walk in new paths of justice, peace, and love as we follow Jesus the Messiah.

Grace and Peace!
This week we hear the story of Esther (and others!) as part of our August sermon series about faithful communities resisting tyranny.
May God continue to bless us with wisdom and courage as we stand in solidarity with others and seek justice, peace and love in our own communities.
