John writes in 1 John 2:1-11 with the tenderness of a spiritual father—“My little children”—but don’t let that warmth fool you. He speaks with a deep affection, the kind a parent uses when they love their child too much to let them keep believing a lie. He’s about to draw a line in the sand that nobody can straddle. On one side, there are those who know God. On the other side, there are those who merely claim to know Him. And the difference between the two groups isn’t measured by what comes out of their mouths. It’s measured by what flows from their lives.

Marriage is one of God’s good gifts, designed to reflect commitment, faithfulness, and covenant love. Yet we live in a broken world, and our stories do not always look the way God intended. Some are married, some are divorced, some have remarried, and some are wondering what marriage should mean for their future. Wherever your story finds you today, Scripture calls us to honor God’s design while reminding us that His grace is greater than our past. Today, we’ll look at Jesus’ words about marriage and divorce and ask how we can faithfully follow Him from where we are now.

When a new building opens, the blueprints that guided its construction have served their purpose, but they haven’t become meaningless. In fact, the finished building helps us see what the plans were pointing toward all along. Much of the Old Testament works that way. It looks ahead to what God promised to do, and in Jesus, we see those promises come into focus. Something has changed, but God’s Word hasn’t. This morning, we’ll consider what it means to live on this side of God’s fulfilled promises while still treasuring every word He has spoken.

We have all learned how to make a good impression. We know how to dress up what others can see, say the right things, and present the version of ourselves we want others to believe. But there is always more to us than what can be seen from the outside. People see the image we present. God sees the heart beneath it. In Luke 16:14–15, Jesus reminds us that God’s evaluation of our lives may be very different from the evaluation of those around us. Today, we will look beyond appearances and ask what God sees when He looks at our hearts.

This is why we do what we do! ❤️
This weekend, we celebrated the baptism of a child who first connected with Jesus through our Good News Club! 🙌💦

And this week, our Kids Worship kids were excited to take home their Bible Buddies 🧸📖 to help remind them to read God’s Word daily and grow in their faith.

We may plant the seeds, but God brings the growth. 🌱

Our prayer is simple: that every child would know Jesus, love His Word, and follow Him for a lifetime.

What a wonderful Sunday at Church on the Hill! 🙌

We celebrated our 1st and 6th graders as they received their Bibles, saw our Connect Classes packed with people growing in God’s Word, and enjoyed an incredible Celebrate on the Hill fellowship filled with great food, laughter, and fun on the water slide for our kids and students.

God is doing amazing things in our church family, and we give Him all the praise and glory! Thank you to everyone who served, attended, and helped make the day so special.

We would love for you to join us this Sunday at 9:15am (Connect Classes) and 10:45am (Worship Service).
