Now go, I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt. Exodus 3:10

Moses carried a difficult past. He had killed and fled from the consequences, yet God still called him. “God does not call only the qualified; he qualifies those he calls.” Our flaws and failures do not disqualify us from God’s mission. Our perfect God calls those who feel unready, unworthy, or unsure, then equips them to fulfill his purpose. Where is God calling you to step forward despite your insecurities and uncertainties?

“He was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God.” — Acts 16:34

Encountering God brings true and lasting joy. The jailer’s life changed completely when he met God through Paul and Silas. His joy was rooted in faith, not circumstance when God transforms his fear into celebration. He then was led to great joy and ultimately his whole family was baptized. God replaced his despair with hope.

A life touched by God cannot remain the same. Joy flows from a relationship with Him which is steady even in uncertain times. Be open to Christ at work in your life and trust Him in every circumstance, and know joy.

“What must I do to be saved?… Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” Acts 16:30–31

Crisis can open our hearts to new ways of thinking. The jailer sought hope beyond fear and the answer was simple and powerful. Faith in Jesus brings salvation. This gift is available to all who seek it. God’s grace is offered as a gift through Jesus Christ and belief opens the door to that gift. God welcomes all who come to Him. Take a minute between you and God to recommit all that you are to His glory!

“Do not harm yourself! We are all here!” Acts 16:28

God’s work in us should impact others. In this story, Paul and Silas show compassion to the jailer even when freedom came to them. Their response reflects Christ’s love just as our actions in critical moments matter deeply.

Compassion opens doors for transformation and God uses us to reach others in those moments. Often, love often speaks louder than words. Our response can bring hope to someone in despair and our kindness can offer hope in times of despair. To whom can you reflect God’s heart?

“Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken.”
— Acts 16:26

God responds powerfully to faithful worship. The earthquake broke chains and opened doors. God’s power is greater than any limitation and breakthroughs can come suddenly. What seems permanent can change instantly. God is always able to deliver. His timing is perfect and purposeful and no situation is beyond His reach. When He moves, everything changes. Trust in His power brings hope.

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God.” — Acts 16:25

Worship in hardship is a powerful act of faith. Paul and Silas chose praise despite suffering. They were in jail and knew the outlook was grim but their circumstances did not define their response. Worship shifts focus from problems to God. It invites His presence into pain. Faith shines brightest in difficulty and praise transforms our perspective. It reminds us of the greatness of God. Even in trials, worship brings peace. We have a God who is available and claims us every season.

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.” Psalm 143:8

There are some mornings where we start with our minds being full before our feet even hit the floor. We’re thinking about what all the things that need to get done, we’re worrying about something coming later in the day, we’re trying our best to get a start on having everything in control. This verse reminds us that maybe we can start our day somewhere better: with God’s unfailing love. Before we start to make decisions, answer messages, or step into our daily responsibilities, talk to God! Pause your morning, even for just 30 seconds, and ask God, “Show me the way I should go.”
