Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today.
Exodus 14:15

Fear can cloud our vision and weaken our faith. God calls us to stand firm in His promises. Deliverance may not come as expected, but it will come. Remaining steady allows us to witness His power. Trust replaces panic when we focus on Him. God’s faithfulness always prevails. Standing firm requires patience and courage. It means refusing to give in to fear or doubt. God’s deliverance often arrives right on time. He never fails to fulfill His promises.

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea… and the waters were divided. Exodus 14:21

God makes a way where none seems possible. The sea did not part until Moses obeyed God’s instruction. This required courage and trust in what was unseen. Miracles often follow obedience. Our responsibility is to act in faith while God does the impossible. He reveals paths we never imagined. What seemed like an obstacle becomes a testimony of His power. God specializes in turning barriers into breakthroughs. Our obedience unlocks opportunities for Him to move. Faith allows us to witness His miraculous provision.

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14

In moments of fear, God invites us to release control and trust His power. When the Israelites stood before the Red Sea, their strength and strategies could not save them. God’s command to be still was not an invitation to do nothing, but a call to rest in His ability. It required them to quiet their panic and choose faith over fear. In our own lives, we often want to fix everything quickly, yet God calls us to pause and trust Him fully. His power is made perfect when we surrender to Him. Stillness becomes an act of confidence in God’s sovereignty. This week, rest in His love for you.

The people who once sat in darkness have seen a great light; upon them the Light has shined.
Matthew 4:16

Sunday, we took communion in the dark! Zak played the grand piano barely seeing the music, the ushers collected our tithes and offerings, and we appreciated even more having electricity--and just after I spoke about how important it is to “remember” the ways God is at work in our lives. We talked about the Exodus and the Passover meal and the connection to Communion when Jesus tells us to partake of this meal of grace in remembrance of His sacrifice and love for us. Perhaps the day the lights went out in worship and we communed in the darkness is a day that we will remember!

No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt. Exodus 12:13

God heard the cries of his people and provided protection for them. They were spared by listening to God and following God’s instructions. The blood on their doorposts was a reminder of the righteousness of God. When we think about that for our lives today, we too are saved—not because we have earned it, but because of God’s love for us through the blood of God’s only Son, His one true and perfect lamb.

This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover. Exodus 12:11

Are you spiritually ready? Have you responded to God’s call on your life? Are you prepared to go where He leads? Are you prepared to leave your old life behind as God leads you to His promised land for you? This verse reminds us that we need to act right now, not tomorrow, not in a week or a month or a year. We need to give our hearts and lives to God today.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29

In the gospel of John, he describes Jesus as the Lamb of God, the one sacrificed on our behalf, the very Paschal Lamb, who took our place, the same concept as the Passover Lamb that was established during the Exodus. When we think about the way God has been at work to save us for thousands of years, it really behooves us to pay attention to what God is choosing for us—the path to our salvation!
