VBS 2026 🔎 Investigating God’s Dream ⚙️

From July 13-17, 9am-3pm, kids at Riverside Church are invited to become detectives - exploring what the Bible teaches about God’s dream for the world and how we can be part of it. Through stories, games, crafts, and hands-on activities, children will “investigate” big themes like kindness, families, sharing, inclusion, and caring for creation.

Each day focuses on a new case to solve, drawing from Scripture and real-life questions kids face - from friendships and bullying to fairness, belonging, and the environment. Along the way, children will discover that God’s dream isn’t just something we learn about - it’s something we live out together.

Open to rising kindergarten through 8th grade, VBS at Riverside is a joyful, welcoming space where all means all. Come ready to ask questions, make friends, and help solve the case of God’s love in action.

Register today at riversidetogether.churchcenter.com. Early bird registration fee available until June 15th.

I was ruminating on authenticity as we enter Pride month. There are so many ways that hiding our true nature and calling holds us back from all the good God is trying to do—first in us, and then through us for others—because we are not being true to who we are.

5 Senses of Prophetic Imagination - May 31. Lunch is provided!

Inspired by Walter Brueggemann and The Prophetic Imagination: where faith is explored through your whole self, not just your thoughts.

Together, we’ll engage the five senses : seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, and noticing to reflect on how we experience the world and where we sense hope, healing, and possibility.

This space is designed to be welcoming, and accessible to allThere is no pressure to share or participate in any specific way you are free to engage, observe, or simply be present.

Whether you are new to faith, returning, questioning, or deeply rooted, you belong here. Come as you are. Move at your own pace. There is room for your story.

Holy Spirit of wind and fire, you arrive where people least expect you - disrupting certainty, inserting comfort, calling ordinary people into extraordinary lives.

At Pentecost, you did not lead disciples to safety, predictability, or control. You drove them beyond locked rooms, beyond familiar language, beyond the limits of who they thought they could become. And still you move among us today.

Too often, O God, we confuse comfort with faithfulness. We mistake what feels manageable for what is Spirit-led. We settle for the lives we could build on our own instead of trusting the transformation you desire for us.

Breathe upon us again. Lead us where we could not otherwise go. Call us into courage we do not yet possess, love we cannot yet imagine, and community beyond our boundaries.

On this Memorial Day weekend, we remember those whose lives were shaped by sacrifice and service. May we honor them not by glorifying violence, but by becoming people committed to the flourishing of the world.

Come, Holy Spirit. Disturb us where we have become too comfortable. Strengthen us where fear has kept us small. And make us into people who could only exist through the power of your presence among us.

Amen.
