Somebody needs to hear this today....

The passage from Colossians 2:12-15 encapsulates a profound theological truth that resonates deeply with the core tenets of the Christian faith. It speaks of transformation, redemption, and victory—themes that are essential to understanding the grace offered through Jesus Christ.

As believers, we are presented with the awe-inspiring reality that through baptism, we are symbolically buried with Christ and raised anew, signifying not just a physical act but a spiritual rebirth rooted in faith.

This passage not only highlights our previous state of spiritual death due to sin but emphasizes the divine intervention of God, who has quickened us together with Christ, granting us forgiveness for our transgressions. The significance of the "handwriting of ordinances" being blotted out is monumental.

It metaphorically represents the legal claims that sin had against us—claims that were contrary to our well-being and spiritual freedom.

The act of nailing these ordinances to the cross signifies that Jesus took upon Himself the weight of our sins, thereby nullifying any accusation that could be brought against us. This truth is liberating, as it reassures believers that their past, marred by sin, does not dictate their present or future.

Instead, they are invited to step into a new identity, one that is grounded in the victory of Christ over sin, death, and the powers of darkness.

However, a critique emerges when considering the contemporary Church's approach to this powerful message. Too often, teachings have shifted towards a self-absorbed gospel focused on personal gain rather than the transformative power of Christ's sacrifice.

The essence of the true Gospel—the message of Christ's atonement and reconciliation with the Father—seems to be overshadowed by a desire to appease congregational preferences. This shift risks diluting the profound implications of what it means to be saved and to live in light of that salvation.

The call to action for believers is not merely to bask in the freedom granted by Christ but to actively participate in enforcing that victory through lives of selfless, sacrificial service. In doing so, we emulate the love that Christ has for us, extending it to our neighbors and actively engaging in the mission of introducing others to the hope found in Him.

This is not a passive endeavor; it requires commitment, compassion, and courage to reflect the heart of Christ in a world that desperately needs His light. In conclusion, Colossians 2:12-15 serves as a powerful reminder of the victory we have in Christ, urging believers to embrace their new identity and to live out their faith with intentionality.

The modern Church must reclaim this message, prioritizing the true Gospel that emphasizes forgiveness, reconciliation, and the call to love and serve others. I've enjoyed writing all of the lesson books being used in our Spiritual Warfare school. However, this was was uniquely different in that I felt as though the Lord's hand rested on my shoulder as it was being written. In today’s world, where the hustle and bustle of daily life often overshadow the spiritual dimension, it is essential to recognize the profound impact that prayer can have on our everyday existence.

Many might dismiss prayer as a mere ritual or a personal comfort, yet it is much more than that—it is a powerful means of connection to the Divine and a catalyst for change in the natural world.

The assertion that events unfolding in the physical realm are directly influenced by prayers offered in the spiritual realm is a concept that deserves exploration.

As stated in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” This verse serves as a powerful reminder of the presence of God in our collective prayers and the supernatural implications of our faith.

The idea that believers hold significant power through prayer is often overlooked. In a society that prioritizes tangible results, it can be easy to undervalue the unseen forces at work.

However, the reality is that prayer transcends the limitations of the natural world, tapping into a wellspring of divine influence. This connection between the spiritual and the natural is paramount, especially in a time when spiritual warfare is evident.

It is here that the role of spiritual warriors, those who intercede with fervor and faith, becomes crucial. The Holy Spirit is actively raising a generation of intercessors—individuals who understand the weight of their prayers and are willing to stand in the gap for their communities, nations, and the Church.

Reflecting on my experiences under the mentorship under the late Dr. Don Lynch, I recall the establishment of a prayer initiative known as "2s and 3s," inspired by Matthew 18:20.

This movement emphasized the importance of coming together in prayer, recognizing that even a small gathering can invoke the presence of the Lord and create ripples of transformation within our surroundings.

Through this initiative, we witnessed firsthand the power of collective prayer, as lives were changed, situations were altered, and a sense of hope was restored. Our faith in the power of intercession was not just theoretical; it was a lived experience that affirmed our belief in God's active participation in our lives.

As we contemplate the current state of our nation and the Church, it becomes evident that there is a divine call to reestablish houses of prayer.

The Lord is reclaiming the destiny of His Church and, by extension, the destiny of our nation. This reclamation is not merely a passive return to tradition; it is an active engagement with the spiritual forces that shape our society.

Through persistent prayer and intercession, we are invited to partner with God in bringing about His Kingdom on earth. This partnership requires commitment, unity, and a deep understanding of the supernatural implications of our prayers.

In conclusion, the relationship between prayer and the manifestation of change in the natural world cannot be overstated. Believers are called to recognize their identity as children of God, endowed with the power to influence their surroundings through prayer.

In the current state of the American Church, there exists a profound connection to the moral fabric of the nation.

As we navigate an increasingly complex and turbulent societal landscape, it becomes imperative for believers to unite with those whose hearts are fervently seeking the King, His Kingdom, and His Righteousness. This urgency stands in stark contrast to the distractions that often lead congregations astray.

In a time when the integrity of doctrine is crucial, it is vital to distance ourselves from those who have compromised their faith to align with the fleeting trends of worldly systems. The contemporary landscape of Christianity is fraught with challenges, and it is not a time for passive engagement.

The alarming rise of superficial expressions of faith, epitomized by the prevalence of "skinny-jeaned" pastors whose popularity thrives on social media and grandiose presentations, highlights a troubling reality.

These figures often prioritize entertainment over authentic spiritual growth, leading congregations to remain oblivious to the deeper truths of the Gospel.

The use of fog machines and elaborate staging may create a captivating atmosphere, but they risk overshadowing the core message of Christ and reducing worship to mere spectacle. We find ourselves in a volatile period where the stakes are extraordinarily high—not only for individual souls but also for families and the nation as a whole.

As moral decay threatens to infiltrate every aspect of society, it is critical for the Church to rise as a beacon of truth and hope. This can only be achieved through intentional fellowship with those who share a sincere desire for spiritual authenticity and a commitment to uphold the teachings of Scripture.

The call to unity among believers is not merely a suggestion; it is a necessity. In moments of spiritual crisis, it is essential to band together, to foster a community that encourages one another in faith, and to collectively seek guidance from the Holy Spirit.

*A Heart Centered on Worshipping the Lord vs. a Heart Centered on Worshipping Man**

In the journey of faith, individuals often find themselves at a crossroads: should their hearts be centered on worshipping the Lord or on worshipping man?

Over the past two decades, I have observed a peculiar trend within the Church, which I have come to recognize as the "paths of the sheep." Although this phenomenon is not confined to Jacksonville, it is in this city where I have witnessed it unfold most vividly.

This essay explores the implications of shifting allegiances within the Church and questions the motivations that guide such decisions.

One of the most notable trends I have observed is the frequent migration of churchgoers from one ministry to another. This movement is typically driven by two primary factors: offense and the worship of individuals.

It is common to see congregants leave a church community due to a perceived offense from the pastor or church leadership, often rallying around a charismatic figure who promises a more appealing vision or a more engaging experience.

In such cases, the focus shifts from the divine mission of the Church to the personal ambitions of a leader, leading to disunity and fragmentation within the body of Christ.

The underlying question that arises from these shifts in allegiance is whether those who leave are genuinely aligned with the Father and His vision, or if they are simply following a man. This dilemma is not a new one; it has echoes in biblical history.

For instance, consider the nation of Israel and its tumultuous relationship with leadership. When the citizens chose to follow King Saul’s vision instead of seeking God’s guidance, they paved the way for a multitude of hardships. Saul’s reign was marked by disobedience and strife, ultimately leading to Israel’s downfall.

If the people had anchored their hearts to God's vision from the outset, they might have avoided the turmoil that ensued. The contemporary church faces a similar crossroads.

When individuals prioritize personal preferences, charismatic leaders, or emotional experiences over the pursuit of a relationship with God, they risk losing sight of the true purpose of worship. Worship should center on the Lord, not human personalities.

A heart focused on God acknowledges His sovereignty and seeks to fulfill His divine plan, while a heart centered on man often leads to disillusionment and division. Moreover, the consequences of a heart that worships man extend beyond individual congregations.

The Church as a whole suffers when its members are swayed by the allure of charismatic leadership rather than a shared commitment to God’s mission. Church splits and divisions can result in a weakened witness to the world, as disunity undermines the Church’s ability to demonstrate the transformative power of Christ’s love.

In conclusion, the question remains: are we aligning our hearts with the divine vision set forth by the Lord, or are we allowing ourselves to be led astray by the magnetic pull of human leaders?

As we navigate our spiritual journeys, it is vital to remain anchored in the truth of God’s Word and to seek His guidance above all else.

By doing so, we can cultivate a heart centered on worshipping the Lord, fostering unity and purpose within the Church, and ultimately avoiding the pitfalls that arise when our focus shifts from God to man.

Understanding Witchcraft in Spiritual Warfare: The Importance of Recognition and Prayer...

In many religious circles, there exists a common belief that if one simply ignores a troubling issue, it will eventually fade away. This mindset, however, can lead to serious consequences, particularly in the realm of spiritual warfare against witchcraft.

Both individuals and congregations often underestimate the potency of witchcraft, mistakenly believing that turning a blind eye will render it powerless. In reality, neglecting to address these malevolent forces only serves to empower them, granting them greater authority in spiritual matters.

Witchcraft, in its various manifestations, poses a genuine threat not just to individuals, but to entire communities of believers. It thrives on secrecy and denial, often going unrecognized or unacknowledged until its effects become too severe to overlook.

Many faithful individuals might not even realize that their prayers can unintentionally align with witchcraft when they seek to manipulate divine will or call down harm upon others.

Such actions, rooted in a desire for control or retribution, can create a spiritual environment that is hostile rather than healing. To combat the influence of witchcraft effectively, it is crucial for believers to gain a comprehensive understanding of its nature and tactics.

This awareness is not merely about defense; it is about offense. Developing strategic approaches to defeat witchcraft is paramount for achieving victory in spiritual battles, both personally and collectively.

An empowered congregation must recognize the need for proactive prayer and intercession, standing against the encroachments of the enemy rather than passively accepting them.

The truth is that the enemy has taken too much territory for too long, infiltrating families, congregations, cities, and even nations. However, there is hope. The Holy Spirit is rallying believers, igniting a movement of prayer warriors and intercessors who are committed to reclaiming ground lost to spiritual darkness.

These prayer units are essential; they serve as beacons of light in a world often shrouded in confusion and fear. Through fervent prayer and strategic resistance, believers can turn the tide against witchcraft, restoring peace and order to their lives and communities.

In conclusion, recognizing the reality of witchcraft is the first step toward spiritual victory. Ignoring this issue is not an option—it only invites further chaos and confusion. Instead, believers must embrace the power of prayer, seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit to become effective in their strategies.

By confronting witchcraft head-on, individuals and congregations can reclaim their rightful place in the spiritual realm, emerging victorious over the darkness that seeks to undermine their faith and purpose.

Only then can they truly experience the fullness of life that God intends for them, both individually and as a united body of believers.
