Again and again, we will be transformed. Contact the Rev. Beth Tjoflat at [email protected] for more information.

Recognizing that "church" at its best cannot be contained, this "church without walls" shares the unconditional love of Christ with and through people who ordinarily would not mix. This ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida calls people from all walks of life into partnership with “the least of these.” We are a “community of presence” made up of individuals looking for spiritual companionship and connection that give meaning to life. We welcome everyone -- the homeless and the affluent, the addicted and those in recovery, the churched and the unchurched, the spiritual but not religious, the believer, the doubter and the seeker. We are grounded in the reality that “by opening ourselves to strangers, the despised or frightening or unintelligible other, we will see more and more of the holy (from prologue to Take this Bread)."

A beautiful reflection from Mother Beth, founder of Church Without Walls.

All the rest is straw.

Hello friends! It'll be a busy day at St. Mary's on August 16th, so it would be wonderful if we had a "Lunch Angel" for Church Without Walls that day. If your church or small group can help out, please sign up here! Thanks!

Are there any “Lunch Angels” out there who’d like to provide sack lunches for Church Without Walls for Pentecost this Sunday?

If food is your love language, please sign up here: https://evite.me/NNMmJmJ8qR

Then Jesus poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was tied around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” Jesus answered, “You do not know now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no share with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!”
-John 13:5-9

It was another beautiful Maundy Thursday with footwashing, prayer, and fellowship as we remembered Jesus’ command to love one another as he loved us.

We are so thankful for this long partnership with St. Philip's Episcopal Church Jacksonville, FL and St. Mary's Episcopal Church and Outreach Mission.

All are welcome to join Church Without Walls for Easter worship this Sunday at 1:00 pm in the parking lot of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida (corner of Market and Monroe).

Our friends from Episcopal Church of the Redeemer included a little Jesus in our lunches today! We could all use a little Jesus, couldn’t we?

Thank you friends!

If your congregation would like to serve as “lunch angels,” message us with your email address we’ll send you the online sign-up!

So much beauty on our first Sunday outdoors in years - the weather, the people, the music, the worship, the nourishment of the Word and good food.

Thank you to the Rev. Cn. Beth Tjoflat for her example and steadfast commitment to urban ministry, to Christ Episcopal Church Youth Ministry and our own Loretta for sack lunches and delicious soup, to John Willim for leading us in song, and the Episcopal Diocese of Florida for hosting us. It was a glorious All Saints’ Day!

Next Sunday we’ll be back in Cummings Chapel at St. John's Cathedral at 1:00 pm. All are welcome! Enter through the Dean’s Garden on Shields Place.

Almighty God, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord: Give us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those ineffable joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
