Then Jesus poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was tied around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” Jesus answered, “You do not know now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no share with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!”

It was another beautiful Maundy Thursday with footwashing, prayer, and fellowship as we remembered Jesus’ command to love one another as he loved us.

We are so thankful for this long partnership with St. Philip's Episcopal Church Jacksonville, FL and St. Mary's Episcopal Church and Outreach Mission.

All are welcome to join Church Without Walls for Easter worship this Sunday at 1:00 pm in the parking lot of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida (corner of Market and Monroe).

So much beauty on our first Sunday outdoors in years - the weather, the people, the music, the worship, the nourishment of the Word and good food.

Thank you to the Rev. Cn. Beth Tjoflat for her example and steadfast commitment to urban ministry, to Christ Episcopal Church Youth Ministry and our own Loretta for sack lunches and delicious soup, to John Willim for leading us in song, and the Episcopal Diocese of Florida for hosting us. It was a glorious All Saints’ Day!

Next Sunday we’ll be back in Cummings Chapel at St. John's Cathedral at 1:00 pm. All are welcome! Enter through the Dean’s Garden on Shields Place.

Almighty God, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord: Give us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those ineffable joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Clara White Mission chef Keith Smith died at the age of 51 on Monday. A funeral is planned for Saturday.
