Geaux Vote!!!

🚨 DON’T BE FOOLED — THE ELECTION IS STILL HAPPENING 🚨

Yes, you are still voting on May 16, and early voting begins Saturday, May 2. Even with changes affecting the U.S. House Congressional races, the rest of the election is still moving forward and your vote absolutely still matters.

On your ballot, you’ll STILL be voting DOWN THE BALLOT for the U.S. Senate, Public Service Commission, BESE, five constitutional amendments, and local races. You can view your sample ballot here: pcej.org/SampleBallots

The U.S. House races will still appear on the ballot, but state officials are currently indicating those votes are not expected to be counted. That makes it even more important to show up and vote in every other race and measure that will directly shape our communities.

These five constitutional amendments in particular will have long-term impacts on schools, funding, local services, and political power across the state, especially in Black and marginalized communities.

So the bottom line is simple: go vote, start early voting Saturday, vote the entire ballot, and bring five people with you.

This election is shaping schools, funding, and power in our communities for years to come. Your vote is your power — and skipping this election is not an option.

We are issuing an urgent call to every clergy person, officer, and member of the AME Church to stand with us in this critical moment. Join us this Sunday, May 3rd, at 6pm EST for our Freedom Summer Kickoff, a connectional effort to organize, mobilize, and protect our communities. As we experience the escalating assault on and erasure of our hard-fought rights, we cannot be silent or still.

Show up, speak up, and stand together as a Connectional church committed to justice and liberation. Our history has taught us that when the AME Church shows up, change becomes possible. Let us honor our legacy by responding with courage, clarity, and conviction as we begin this Freedom Summer.
