For Colin, the choice to come to Iowa was clear when he learned of the community that the Newman Center would provide him.

Colin attended a liberal arts college last year and wasn't being fulfilled in his faith life. He knew that he had to transfer, and the strong Catholic community at Iowa Catholic was what drew him to the University of Iowa. As a Regina High School alum, Colin realized during his time before coming to the University of Iowa that a community of faith is something that is non-negotiable for him. Being in a campus community that loves Christ is a blessing, and isn't something you find just anywhere. What we have here at Iowa Catholic is special, and it's all thanks to you!

The Newman Center is no stranger to those seeking Christ and to receive the sacraments. This past Easter Vigil, the Newman Center experienced one of the largest OCIA groups ever. The joy of being clothed in the love of Christ is felt every day at the Newman Center, and it's not possible without generous support from our benefactors like you!

The work doesn't start when the students move onto campus! Over the summer, Iowa Catholic is present at all 15 Becoming a Hawkeye information fairs to meet incoming students! We are on campus as much as possible over the summer to reach new students that will become Hawkeyes in the fall.

Last week in the Friday Email Fr. Jeff introduced you to our two new FOCUS missionaries, Sammy and Kevin! We are excited to welcome them to Iowa City as they step into their roles as our FOCUS Greek missionaries. This photo was snapped during new staff training in Lincoln, Nebraska, with our current FOCUS team. Please help us in giving Sammy and Kevin a warm Iowa Catholic welcome!

For Maggie, the Newman Center was where she realized that there's more to being Catholic than just going to Sunday Mass.

"The Newman Center has become my home away from home — a place where I’ve been challenged, supported, and loved into deeper discipleship. It’s where I’ve learned what it means to belong to the Church, not just by upbringing, but by conviction and joy."

There are so many faith based opportunities for Maggie and her peers at Newman, beyond being a place to experience the sacraments and be surrounded by others who are dedicated to Christ and living out their faith. This coming school year for Maggie, the opportunity to lead has been given to her in the form of a student fellowship.

These opportunities are directly impacted by the generosity of donors just like you. We can't form disciples of the Church and the world without the faithful support of those who believe in our mission here at the Newman Center.

We are getting closer each day to hitting our Annual Fund goal for this fiscal year! $40,000 left until we hit this year's goal. You can still make an impact on students like Maggie.
