Running on empty?
We spend a lot of time trying to fill ourselves with things that were never meant to sustain us.
But grace is different.
It isn't something you earn. It isn't reserved for the people who have it all together. Grace is God's gift to you, freely given through Christ.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith.” Ephesians 2:8
If you've been looking for a Lutheran church in Indianapolis, searching for a church home for your family, or simply wondering what it might look like to come back to church, there's a place for you at St. John.

"The B-I-B-L-E, yes that's the book for me!"
The second grade class was all smiles in chapel this morning as they received a special gift: their very own Bible! We pray that they would continue to read, mark, and learn from the Holy Word of God throughout their time at St. John and beyond. We are grateful for the blessing of our Lutheran school where we are grounded in God's Word and are able to share and live out our faith each and every day. "The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God will stand forever." - Isaiah 40:8

Christ continues to cultivate His community at St. John! This weekend we welcomed the Allen family to the Lord's and our church family through baptism. What a blessing to know that "baptism now saves you" (1 Peter 3:21) and our faith is continually nourished through Word and Sacrament. If you'd like to know more about what Lutherans teach about baptism, we'd love to hear from you! See our previous post, message us, or contact our office.
"There is nothing worth comparing to this lifelong comfort sure!
Open-eyed my grave is staring; even there I'll sleep secure.
Though my flesh awaits its raising, still my soul continues praising:
I am baptized into Christ; I'm a child of paradise!" (Lutheran Service Book #594, v.5, CPH)
