We are grateful for this beautiful litany written by Rev. Anita M. Cobb and shared at the last Strategic Planning Committee meeting—a reminder that in every season of uncertainty, God calls us to respond with love, justice, and collective courage.
Her words speak to who we are as a Region: people who show up for one another, who stand with our neighbors, and who shine light into the places that need it most. Take a moment to read and share this litany with your congregation or ministry team. It is a gift to all of us.
One: In a time when life is calling us into something new, different, bold, we must respond to the call with love, courage, and care.
All: We will answer the call and serve with joy, passion, and courage!
One: In a time when hate seems to drive out love and confusion overpowers curiosity; we must stand on the side of truth and justice.
All: We will let love be our guide as we stand in solidarity with our neighbor, bearing the burden together.
One: In a time when entities seem silent, we must speak. Speak for those who have been silenced. Speak for those who are afraid. Speak for those who need the courage to speak for themselves.
All: We will be the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus, proclaiming good news to those who live in the margins.
One: In a time when the pressures of life weigh us down and the darkness appears to be winning; we must join our lights together to help light a way forward.
All: Together we will let our lights shine facing the newness with resolution and conviction. We will work together to move forward with hope and action. We will speak truth to power in love. We are one region, one church.
