New Life family and friends,
Since Easter, we’ve been asking a simple but important question: Now what? What does it actually look like to live in light of the resurrection? We’ve seen that Jesus meets us in our fear, our doubts, our failures, and those seasons when life just doesn’t make sense. This Sunday, we come to a really important moment in the story. In Acts 1, the disciples watch Jesus ascend into heaven. At first, it might seem like He is leaving them behind. But the ascension is not Jesus stepping away—it is Jesus taking His throne. The resurrection proved that Jesus is alive. The ascension declares that Jesus is Lord.
Tomorrow’s message is entitled, “The Name Above Every Name.” We’ll be reminded that His name is exalted above every other name, that His rule extends over every nation and every circumstance, and that the same Jesus who ascended into heaven will one day return in power and glory. In a world that can feel overwhelming and uncertain, this truth reminds us that Jesus is not absent, and He is not out of touch. He is reigning right now, and one day He will return to make everything right. Take a few minutes to read Acts 1:1–11 in preparation, and come ready to encounter our risen Savior and Lord!
