One of Mike’s favorite Bible verses is 2 Timothy 2:22:

“Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”

This verse reminds him to flee from anything ungodly, but to pursue righteousness and a pure heart.

We were grateful to join Backwoods Bible Church for their annual Service in the Park on June 28!

Backwoods Bible Church is a home church that meets in members' homes, public parks, and has a weekday bible study at CrossRoads. They invited us to share at their annual service in the park- complete with down home country music, cookin’ and bbq!

Our two “Mikes” shared their testimonies of God’s goodness in their lives and how He has been restoring their family relationships as well as their own hearts and minds.

We also heard from two other ministries how God has been blessing them and their work bringing Jesus to others both locally and globally, Waterboyz for Jesus and Tim Leber’s Christ CreamTruck (who of course brought some sweet treats to share!)

We are thankful for opportunities to gather with others, celebrate changed lives, and share what God is doing in our community and beyond.

Meet Robert Scott CrossRoads, board member serving for 12 years!

As a business owner and now real estate agent, Robert has brought valuable insights and suggestions that have helped improve the financial and operational foundations of our non-profit. He’s also been a friend of Joe’s for over 40 years & has seen our journey grow from being the seed of a vision to a growing organization. With thoughtful questions and a sense of humor, he’s been a leader in our discussions at nearly every meeting.
