Dilley Detention Center National UU Action Hour - Wednesday, January 28th (10 PT/ 11 MT / 12 CT / 1 ET). Join UUs across the country for a virtual action hour in solidarity with the children and families currently detained at the Dilley Detention Center in South Texas. On Saturday January 24th, families held at Dilley protested their detainment shouting "Libertad para los niños" or "Free the children!" in the midst of horrific, inhumane conditions. This comes after the illegal kidnapping of a 5-year old in Minnesota who is now being held at Dilley. This action hour will occur simultaneously as people of faith and conscience hold a vigil and procession to the facility, and is organized by UU Justice NC and the UU Solidarity Initiative (Borderlinks, Side with Love, UUMA, UURISE, UUSC, UUSJ) in partnership with the Texas UU Justice Ministry Register Here.:

In our community there are plenty of folks who don't have a lot of local family & friends around the winter holidays. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick & the Frederick Chapter of Unitarian Universalist Pagans have planned a day of Friendsgiving for community, food, and fun. It is specifically planned to welcome folks who either cannot join, or may not feel welcome by, their traditional family dinners to offer food and community.

You can check out the details and sign up using the link in the comments below to RSVP and bring a potluck dish (with the ingredients labeled for those with allergies).

There will be a board game room, activities, food, story telling, & fun.

En nuestra comunidad, muchas personas no tienen muchos familiares ni amigos locales durante las fiestas de invierno. La Congregación Unitaria Universalista de Frederick y el Capítulo de Frederick de los Paganos Unitarios Universalistas han planeado un día de Acción de Gracias con Amigos para compartir, comer y divertirse.
