"Pea Ridge Baptist is a friendly, loving church with an emphasis on making disciples, both in the church and in the community. Made up of a diverse group of people in age and socio-economic status, we are a body of believers striving to be mature followers of Jesus Christ. We want to be an outward-focused church; therefore, we engage in missions both locally and around the world." Worship- Sunday

Our pr***en group spent an afternoon at Hospice House of Huntington helping to clean the outside of their building to prepare for their 20th anniversary celebration this week. Before we walked in, we talked about the important ministry work that happens at this special place as patients are cared for during their final days and families are given the space they need to be together in a quiet environment. We are proud of our students for working hard and serving others today!

A note from Pastor Dan:

I’ve mostly lived my life looking forward. That has been an intentional effort on my part; my personality actually trends more towards reflecting on the past. Somehow, I’ve trained myself to look forward. But there are problems with that approach to life. When you are constantly looking forward:

· You often miss the present
· You don’t take time to celebrate what God has done
· You are rarely content
· You take people for granted

Thankfully, the grace of God and my natural tendencies have prevented me from falling into these traps frequently, though I do still battle them. At this moment, I am choosing to focus on what’s happening around me in our church family.

We recently hosted a spiritual growth retreat that brought many of you together for a day of drawing nearer to God. Feedback from adults and kids who attended has been so positive that we already have another one on the calendar for Saturday, May 1, 2027! This retreat was planned and put together by our own vision team, which has worked hard over the last two years to discern God’s direction for our church.

In March and April, we baptized four people (and I got to baptize one additional person at another location). We are seeing new people come on Sundays and get connected thanks to the welcoming atmosphere that many of you who are current members are helping to create. Our worship team has led us with Spirit-filled music on Sunday mornings and members of that team are serving with humility and unity.

Children, teens and adults are experiencing God and connecting with each other through a variety of ministries within our church. Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, life groups, women’s Bible study, men’s breakfast … these are providing meaningful and fun times of growth in relationship to God and one another.

In short, it’s an exciting time in the life of our church! If you are already getting connected, keep moving in that direction. If you haven’t yet taken that step, now is the time! Reach out by sending a text to 833-776-5099 with the word “connect” and we will respond to help you.

As we move into summer, we are starting something new: Family Nights on Sunday night! This is part of a move we are making from Wednesday night to Sunday night ministries, which we believe best fits with our church family. We had our final Wednesday night last night as we celebrated with a cookout, and our first Sunday night will be June 7 as we launch with our summer church picnic (we like cookouts).

I’m thankful for what God is doing in our church right now, and where He is leading us. This is a time to praise Him for who He is and how He is working in each of our lives, and to invite others to experience Him, too.

This past Sunday we prayed over and honored two members of our church staff as they transition into new positions and opportunities.

Zach Stevens has served as our Youth Director here at Pea Ridge for several years now. He and his family have poured their hearts into this ministry, creating lasting relationships with students and discipling them even after they have aged out of Youth.

Cari Reed has served as our church secretary for almost a decade. She has been dependable has always had a willingness to serve. She has helped support and maintain our church in so many different ways, and we can’t thank her and her family enough!

We want to wish these two the best as they move on to different chapters of their lives. We’re excited to continue encouraging them as part of our church family in wherever God may lead them to next!

Our Golden Group shared a sweet picnic this afternoon!!💐🧺☀️

Golden Group is a community of believers that meet up each month, share a meal with one another and just catch up. If you’re ever interested in joining this group, they meet on the third Wednesday of each month at various locations. If you check the Pea Ridge app, it’ll show you exactly where the group will be meeting for the coming months! There’s always good food and good conversation, these folks would love to see you at their next meeting!!

What fuels your pursuit of Jesus? Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:12 that following Christ is like running a race. We run, not for perfection, but for progress. We press on, not because we have to prove ourselves, but because Christ has already taken hold of us.

The truth is, many things try to motivate us: comfort, fear, guilt, approval, or obligation. But none of these will sustain us to the finish line. Only faith in Jesus, and trusting who He is and what He's done, gives us the power to keep moving forward. Our citizenship is in heaven, and we're running toward the ultimate prize: life with Jesus forever.

Today, let go of what's behind and reach forward to what's ahead. Be a lifelong learner in Christ. Remember, this race isn't about perfection, it's about pressing on with faith, fueled by the One who first pursued you.
