River Cities Community Church

River Cities Community Church Non-Denominational Church Hello, Neighbor! Welcome to River Cities! We are a multi-generational church family. What to Expect: Sunday Worship: 10 AM.

The strength of this diversity is that we can lean on the wisdom of our more experienced members while championing the energy of younger generations. The focus of River Cities is to guide people in taking their next step towards Jesus Christ, so whatever your age or where you are on your spiritual journey, our doors are open and you are welcome! You can expect to be pointed toward Jesus Christ as

we join in dynamic worship and open our Bibles to learn together from God's Word. We have a praise band and sing both contemporary music and traditional hymns. Attire: Casual (pants, shorts, dresses, suits, etc.). Whatever your preference, come as you are! Parking: There are four parking lots: blue, green, red, and yellow. The main entrance (blue lot) is covered making it easy to drop people off, even in poor weather. You will find greeters located at each entrance ready to welcome, direct, and answer any questions you may have. Nursery & RC3 Kids: Our children enjoy a well-staffed nursery and Sunday School program designed to partner with parents to provide age-appropriate Bible teaching and other fun activities. The safety of our children is of utmost importance to us. All of our Nursery workers and Kids Church volunteers submit to a background check. For your convenience, we offer two check-in stations, which are located in the Gym and in the Cafe Wing. If it's your first time, please allow a few minutes to fill out paperwork. If your child is an infant--3 years old, you will receive a buzzer should you be needed during the service; and a sticker for use upon pickup. If your child is 4 years old (potty trained) -- 5th grade, you will receive a sticker for pickup. Children 6th grade and older will be with you in the service. Dear friend, if it’s your very first time coming, we so greatly look forward to meeting you! More About Our Church
River Cities Community Church was originally founded in 1969 under the former name Souls for Christ Baptist Church and has since grown into a wonderfully vibrant family and community staple in Huntington, WV. You can read more about our core values and beliefs on our website or church app. There are a plethora of ways to plug into and grow with our church. Ministry is certainly not exclusive! Whether you may be interested in taking a Life Skills class or checking out AWANA for the kids, there truly is something for everyone. Small groups are an especially great way to get connected. The purpose of these groups is to study God's Word, build relationships, and serve together. A Personal Note from Pastor Larry:
“We hope that as you interact with us you will find yourself more connected to the people and mission of RC3 and to Christ. Maybe you'll find River Cities Church your place to begin and belong. One of our goals at RC3 is to provide opportunities for everyone to take their next step in Christ. As with anything in life, we have to make choices based on priorities. With that in mind, let's zero in on three priorities that will allow us to thrive spiritually: Worship, Instruction, and Service. As you explore our church, you will find opportunities to be involved in all three areas. We hope you will join us for Sunday worship, become involved in a small group (instruction), and find an area of service that best suits your gifts and abilities. We look forward to getting to know you and to serving the Lord alongside you!”

📣 This Week in Sunday School: God Preserves the King
This week, your children are learning about how God protected King David’s family line, even during a dangerous time. After Queen Athaliah tried to destroy the royal family so she could become queen, young Joash was secretly rescued and hidden in the temple for six years.
When the time was right, Jehoiada the priest helped crown Joash as king. Joash honored God and repaired the temple while he followed godly leadership. However, after Jehoiada died, Joash turned away from God and followed idols.
Through this lesson, kids will learn that God always keeps His promises and that following God faithfully matters throughout our whole lives.

📖 Key Passages:2 Kings 11:1–3, 12–142 Chronicles 24:1–2, 4, 17–20

💡 Memory Verse:Ephesians 2:4–5“But God, being rich in mercy… made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.”

📣 This Week in Sunday School: Israel Taken Captive

This week, your children are learning about an important and serious moment in Israel’s history. For many years, the people of Israel turned away from God and chose to do what was right in their own eyes instead of obeying Him.

God patiently warned His people and gave them opportunities to repent, but they continued in disobedience. As a result, God used the Assyrians to bring judgment on Israel. The city of Samaria was conquered, and the Israelites were taken captive.

Through this lesson, kids will learn that God is loving and patient, but He is also holy and just. God desires obedience and lovingly corrects His people.
