🎄🎶 CALLING ALL YOUNG SINGERS!

We're getting ready for the Christmas season at Mercy Village, and we'd love for our children to help lead us in celebrating Jesus! On Sunday, November 29, we'll gather for our First Sunday of Advent Youth Service, and we're exploring the possibility of having a group of young singers participate in the gathering!

Children ages 5 and up are invited to participate! No special experience necessary—just a willingness to sing and celebrate together!

🎵 REHEARSAL DATES:
Sunday, November 8
Sunday, November 15
Sunday, November 22

Each rehearsal will last approximately 30 minutes immediately following our Sunday morning gathering.

TOUCH. SOME. GRASS. 🏆🌱

Seriously. We're making a whole competition out of it. This Sunday, ROOM 6 is trading screen time for sunshine, friendly competition, ridiculous challenges, and the opportunity to earn the highly coveted title of TOUCH GRASS CHAMPION! 🏅

We're talking basketball, biking, fishing, field day games, ridiculous competitions, prizes, a we**ie roast, s'mores, and plenty of opportunities to embarrass yourself in front of your friends.

Here's the rundown:
📅 Sunday, November 1
⏰ 1:00–6:00 PM (following Homecoming lunch at MVC)
📍 Beech Fork State Park – Picnic Shelters
💵 $10 per person
🙌 Grades 6–12

🌭 We'll provide the hot dogs and s'mores. Bring a side dish, snack, or treat to share!
🚲 Got a bike, basketball, fishing pole, or other outdoor gear? Bring it along!
- AND BRING YOUR FRIENDS! They don't have to attend Mercy Village. Everyone in grades 6–12 is welcome!

The King's feast isn't a potluck. And that's really good news! 🍽️

When Jesus describes the kingdom of heaven as a lavish wedding feast, there's something beautiful about the invitation: Everything has already been prepared. The King isn't asking His guests to bring something to the table. He's inviting them to receive and enjoy what He has generously provided.

And that's been God's heart from the very beginning! From the Garden of Eden to the kingdom of heaven, we encounter a God whose generosity overflows. Like an Appalachian grandma insisting you have seconds before you've even finished your first helping, God delights in sharing His goodness with His children.

And the greatest expression of that generosity is Jesus Himself. We don't earn our place at His table. We come empty-handed, by grace through faith, receiving the King and all the goodness of His kingdom.

SIX YEARS OF GOD'S FAITHFULNESS! ❤️

On November 1, 2020, Mercy Village Church gathered for worship for the very first time. Six years later, we're still gathering, still growing, and still experiencing the extraordinary grace and goodness of Jesus! And that's worth celebrating!

This Sunday, November 1, we'd love for you to join us for HOMECOMING SUNDAY!

We'll gather at 10:30 AM to worship Jesus and celebrate all that God has done in and through our church family. Then, immediately following the gathering, we'll stick around for a Chili Cook-Off & Potluck Lunch!🌶️

We will Live Local. We will missionally invest our personal lives locally & reach out corporately to our town with creativity & intentionality. So, here's to staying local: While many folks often leave small towns for bigger cities and all they have to offer, there are still those who stay. We count ourselves among those people. We’ve been called to this place, and we’ve been called to stay. While West Virginia’s population decreases, the need for the gospel does not. Might God call even more folks to stay. To stand in the gap in the sometimes forgotten places with the name of Jesus lifted high.

Got a couple of hours to love your neighbors? 🍲❤️ This Saturday, October 31, Mercy Village Church is hosting the Greater Barboursville Community Outreach meal at the Barboursville Senior Center, and we could use a few extra hands!

We'll be serving chili and spending time with our neighbors, and we need volunteers to help set up, greet guests, serve meals, and clean up afterward. No experience necessary. Just show up and serve!

Every story in this church is a story of grace.

Grace in the fear. Grace in the courage. Grace in the loss. Grace in the gain. Grace in the failure. Grace in the triumph. Grace in the hurting. Grace in the healing. Grace in the tears. Grace in the joy.

Some of our stories are filled with beautiful moments of God's goodness. Others are marked by seasons of suffering, struggle, and uncertainty. Most of us know a little of both. But here's the beautiful thing about God's grace: It doesn't depend on how well our story is going or how well we've managed to hold everything together.

His grace meets us in our brokenness, sustains us in our weakness, and continues the good work He's begun in us. And that grace isn't just an idea or a feeling. That grace has a name. And His name is Jesus.

Whatever season you find yourself in today, may you be reminded that God's grace is greater than your sin, stronger than your weakness, and sufficient for whatever lies ahead.

Come and see what God has done. (Psalm 66:5)

The Savior lingers. And His invitation is still open. Maybe you've spent your life resisting God, insisting on doing things your own way. Or maybe you've convinced yourself that you're too broken, too sinful, or too far gone to ever be welcomed into His kingdom.

Here's the good news: Jesus came to make a way for people just like us.

Not because we've earned a place in His kingdom. Not because we've finally gotten our lives together. But because of His grace, made available to us through His death and resurrection. We cannot have the kingdom without the King. But through faith in Jesus, we can belong to Him and receive all the goodness of His kingdom. The invitation is to stop trying to be king and surrender to the One who came to save us.

They're not just the future of the church. They ARE the church! Sometimes they're loud. Sometimes they're restless. Sometimes they leave a trail of crumbs, crayons, and chaos behind them. And we're thankful they're here!

At Mercy Village, we believe the next generation isn't simply waiting for its turn to belong. Our children are part of this church family right now. We want them to know they're loved, that they belong, and, above all, that Jesus loves them.

That conviction shapes how we welcome children into our worship gatherings and how we invest in them through our Kids Ministry.

We're incredibly grateful for the volunteers who faithfully love, teach, and care for our children week after week. So much of what they do goes unseen, but none of it is insignificant. And there's room for you to join them!

We're looking for a few more people willing to serve alongside our Kids Ministry team. You don't have to have everything figured out. We'll help equip you to serve. If you're interested, let us know! We'd love to help you take that next step.
