Dallas knew that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was a “big deal”. He shared that with those getting baptized and those being confirmed, feeding and nourishing these incredible gifts of God. These promises and all of the events and experiences God gave Dallas produced such brightness. Joy. Laughter. What a guy!
Many of us will experience sadness and heartache over Dallas’ death. There will be grieving and weeping. For us, he is definitely gone too soon. But God will see to it that your faith remains strong. The Lord doesn’t leave you in your suffering; He’s decided to enter into it. God is a giver of mercy, and faith in His promise defeats the sadness. He promises to wipe away your tears. Hear your Lord today and tomorrow - through this message and as you reminisce with others - for His Word has announced that Dallas has been made new. This faith is indeed a “big deal” that defeats sin and death, for Dallas and for you.

No Adult Bible Study tonight due to some symptoms I'd rather not share with those gathered! Here are the readings we would have gone through and have been interpreted by -- we stand UNDER Scripture, not over it!:
Acts 1:12-16 - Jesus ascends into heaven, and Peter thinks it's time to organize. He becomes devoted to the administrative side of the church. The Holy Spirit will call them back to the Word. That (the Holy Spirit and the Word) is what the Church needs!
Psalm 68:1-10 - The forces lined up against the Lord are no match for His true power. What does He do with His power? Takes captivity captive for you.
1 Peter 4:12-19; 5:6-11 - We don't fix the problem of sin and darkness in this world. Jesus does. You are in His arms. He's got His grip on you.
John 17:1-11 - Jesus prays just before His betrayal and death. He turns to His heavenly Father, and prays for.... YOU!

Lord,
We thank you for mom and all mom-like figures; whether it be a step mom, bonus mom, foster mom, adoptive mom, expecting mom, new mom, mom of a lost child, or grandmother. They manage kids schedules, house work, careers, and time together all with love and grace. May all mothers feel special today and everyday.
Amen.
