What if things get worse before they get better?

One of the surprising lessons of Daniel is that God doesn't promise His people an easy path. He prepares them to remain faithful through uncertainty, opposition, and suffering.

The hope of Scripture isn't that hardship will never come. The hope is that God is not surprised by any of it.

He knows the future. He rules over history. And even when it seems like evil is winning, He is working all things according to His purposes.

If you've ever wondered whether God is still in control when life feels chaotic, this message is for you.

What do you do when the world feels like it's spinning out of control?

In Daniel 8, God gives Daniel a vision of rising and falling kingdoms, evil that seems unstoppable, and a future filled with uncertainty. Yet beneath the chaos is a powerful reminder: God is not surprised by history. Even when kingdoms collide, His Kingdom cannot be shaken.

This week's message explores biblical prophecy, God's sovereignty, and why fulfilled prophecy gives us confidence to trust God's promises for the future.

Feeling anxious about the future?

When life feels painful, scary, or uncertain, it's easy to think everything is spinning out of control. But Daniel 7 reminds us of a bigger reality: God is not reacting to history. He is ruling it.

The Ancient of Days still sits on His throne. The kingdoms of this world may rise and rage, but they are not ultimate.

As Charles Spurgeon said, “When you go through a trial, the sovereignty of God is the pillow upon which you lay your head.”

What do you do when the world feels unstable, uncertain, or even hostile?

Political turmoil. Global conflict. Financial pressure. Personal suffering. Spiritual exhaustion. Sometimes it can feel like chaos is winning.

In Daniel 7, God gives Daniel a vision of terrifying beasts rising from the sea, but above them all sits the Ancient of Days on His throne, and the Son of Man receives an everlasting kingdom that will never pass away.

The message of this passage is as relevant today as ever: the beasts are real, and the suffering is real, but neither is ultimate.

When the beasts rise and rage, look up to the Ancient of Days and look forward to the kingdom of the Son of Man.

In many people’s minds, the Christian hope ends with escaping this world and going somewhere else when we die. But is that really what the Bible teaches?

In this short clip from our “Nicene Creed: Foundations of the Christian Faith” Discipleship Class, Pastor Mace Perez reflects on the Christian hope of resurrection and the new creation—helping us recover a more grounded, embodied, and deeply hopeful vision of eternity.

Rather than disembodied existence, Scripture points us toward resurrection bodies, a renewed creation, and the life of the age to come through Jesus Christ. This is not an escape from the world, but the restoration of all things.

If this clip helps you think more clearly about heaven, suffering, or the Christian hope, be sure to like, share, and follow for more teaching rooted in the Christian Story.

We hide. We blame shift. We rationalize. We compromise. But Jesus never did.

Daniel 6 isn’t just about surviving the lions’ den. It ultimately points us to Jesus—the truly innocent One who was condemned, passed through death, and was vindicated through resurrection so that guilty people like us could be welcomed into God’s kingdom by grace.

If you’ve ever wrestled with shame, compromise, fear, failure, or the pressure to protect yourself, this message is for you.

What happens after we die? Is the Christian hope merely escaping to heaven someday? Or is it something far greater?

In the final session of our “Nicene Creed: Foundations of the Christian Faith” Discipleship Class, Pastor Mace Perez explores one of the most beautiful and often misunderstood truths of Christianity: “We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come.”

Together, we consider the Bible’s vision of resurrection, eternal life, the new heaven and new earth, and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit. Rather than portraying eternity as disembodied souls floating in heaven forever, the Christian Story points us to the restoration of all things through Jesus Christ—the defeat of sin and death, renewed creation, resurrection bodies, and everlasting joy in the presence of God.

Whether you’re a longtime Christian, spiritually curious, or wrestling with questions about heaven, suffering, purpose, and eternity, we hope this conversation helps you discover the truth, goodness, and beauty of the Christian Story.

What do we do when what is right and what feels easiest don’t line up?

Daniel 6 is more than a story about lions and dens. It’s about quiet, steady faithfulness in a world constantly pulling our hearts in different directions.

Daniel’s courage wasn’t built in one dramatic moment. It was formed through years of ordinary obedience, prayer, integrity, and trust in God.

In this sermon, Pastor Mace Perez explores what it means to remain faithful when honesty is costly, compromise is normalized, and cultural pressure quietly shapes our loves and loyalties. And ultimately, the story points us to Jesus—the greater Daniel—who passed through death and was vindicated through resurrection so that we could be welcomed into God’s unshakable kingdom.

If you’ve ever wrestled with integrity, compromise, distraction, pressure, or the fear of doing the right thing when it costs something, this message is for you.
