Connecting leaders with each other and congregations with their neighbors. LEAD believes that everyone and every congregation can grow.

LEAD understands growth as a choice that is motivated by the Holy Spirit stirring up communities through the actions of passionate leaders who have heard a call to serve and are responding by growing themselves and others for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Built around The Disciple Frame of loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:29-31). LEAD exists to grow leaders with a deep, bold, consequential faith in Jesus Christ.

Today on The Daily LEAD podcast - What if your church is growing, but its impact isn't? Churches and nonprofits are really good at counting things—attendance, giving, participation, programs, and budgets. But are we measuring what actually matters?

This episode challenges leaders to move beyond organizational performance and rediscover the importance of vision, transformation, and lasting impact. We'll explore why numbers matter but never tell the whole story, how churches can confuse activity with effectiveness, and what it means to create a new scorecard for success. Because the ultimate measure of a church isn't simply how many people show up on Sunday—it's what happens in people's lives because they did.

Voting - An Act of Faith
By Kristen Contos Krueger (she/her), PhD

Voting is an act of faith.

Showing up at the polling place and casting a ballot, is one way to live out the call to make the world a more just place for all people. Each vote is particularly important at this moment in history.

As the midterm elections begin in the United States, voting rights are under attack. Two recent Supreme Court rulings dealt “devastating blows” to the Voting Act of 1965 by reducing protections against racism and access to the polls, making it harder for many people to vote. This is not an accident.

Ask this: if individual votes do not matter, why is the party in power trying to take away voting access? Read more here - leadconnects.org/voting-an-act-of-faith/

TODAY on The Daily LEAD podcast - What happens when a business becomes more purpose-driven than a church? Inspired by the book Make Your Mark: The Creative’s Guide to Building a Business with Impact and its challenge that the best organizations are driven by purpose rather than products or profits, this episode asks church and nonprofit leaders to examine the difference between protecting what we do and pursuing why we exist. Why does this program still exist? What problem are we actually solving? What need are we meeting? Purpose should drive programs—not the other way around.

Hearts of Hate or Love?
By Deacon Jessica Noonan (she/her), Executive Director at LEAD

I’m unable to reconcile two conflicting values:

#1: This past week as Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth announced to the world that the ex*****on of Nidal Malik Hasan, who killed 13 people and wounded more than 30 in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, will be livestreamed for anyone and everyone to watch like the Olympics, Super Bowl game, or World Cup match.

#2: At almost the same time, I’ve been in conversation with confirmation students discussing the Ten Commandments and the command “thou shall not kill.”
