LEAD Ministry

LEAD Ministry Connecting leaders with each other and congregations with their neighbors. LEAD believes that everyone and every congregation can grow.

LEAD understands growth as a choice that is motivated by the Holy Spirit stirring up communities through the actions of passionate leaders who have heard a call to serve and are responding by growing themselves and others for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Built around The Disciple Frame of loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:29-31). LEAD exists to grow leaders with a deep, bold, consequential faith in Jesus Christ.

You are invited to our Fall 2026 Love Our Neighbors Cohort - to learn skills and process to learn to love your neighbors through strategic listening.

As our neighborhoods, world, and connections to one another continue to change each day, it becomes vital for our congregational leaders to strengthen their roots in the neighborhoods where they are planted. We don’t have to do this work alone - we can do this together in community.

TODAY on The Daily LEAD podcast - Ever replay a five-minute conversation for the next five hours? Inspired by Ted Lasso’s advice to “be a goldfish,” this Mental Health Monday explores why our brains get stuck replaying mistakes, rejection, and difficult moments—and how to take the lesson without carrying the shame. We’ll talk rumination, parenting, leadership, relationships, and four practical ways to help your brain finally move forward.

Today on The Daily LEAD podcast - What if the greatest measure of your leadership isn’t the impact you make, but the impact others discover they can make because of you?

Inspired by a powerful insight from Vanessa Van Edwards at the Global Leadership Summit, this episode explores the difference between being the leader everyone needs and becoming the leader who empowers others to lead.

We’ll talk about trust, giving away ownership, asking better questions, and why great leadership isn’t about becoming the most important person in the room—it’s about creating a room full of people who know they matter.

This Lutheran Loves You
By Deacon Jessica Noonan (she/her), Executive Director at LEAD

This past weekend, I was with one of my daughters doing the weekly grocery shopping. We were about halfway through the store when out of the blue, a store worker came running up to me. As she approached me, a little out of breath, she said, “I love your shirt. I don’t know about that. Tell me, what is a Lutheran?” Of course, I was happy to oblige and give her the short of what it means to be Lutheran. Read more here - leadconnects.org/this-lutheran-loves-you/

Today on The Daily LEAD podcast - What does it look like to hold on to hope when the future feels uncertain? Inspired by the *Ted Lasso* theme of “Believe,” this episode explores the difference between genuine hope and toxic positivity—and how leaders, parents, helpers, and caregivers can stay grounded, find possibility, and keep moving forward without pretending everything is okay.
