The Lord’s Supper is an invitation to communion, remembrance and hope. As we gather at the table we are called to self-reflection. In years past a great deal of emphasis was laid on our repentance and right standing before God as we came to partake. While that is needed, it is not the true focus of our practice. This week as we prepare to be blessed with this tangible means of grace, let’s focus on the forgiveness purchased for us by the body on blood of Jesus. Let’s remember our connection to God and each other, and let’s lift up for each other the hope we have because God loved us first. Take some time this week to reflect and to repent, but also to rejoice. For a complete forgiveness of all our sins.
