Our Fall Festival is coming up, and one of the highlights is our Theme Basket Raffles! We are asking for your help by donating items to include in our theme baskets.
Donation forms are available on our website and at the parish office. Please take a form, choose a theme, and consider donating one or a few items. You can drop off your items in the parish office.
Your generosity helps make our Fall Festival a wonderful celebration for our parish community and supports our parish.

¡El picnic parroquial de San Mateo!

¡Acompáñanos el próximo domingo 20 de septiembre en nuestro picnic parroquial! Ven a disfrutar de una tarde de buena comida, compañerismo y diversión con nuestra comunidad parroquial. ¡También tendremos juegos y actividades para los niños!
Traigan sus mantas y sillas de jardín y comiencen a preparar todo a la 1:00 pm. Daremos las gracias y comenzaremos a servir a la 1:30 pm.
Esta es una comida compartida, así que por favor traigan una ensalada, una guarnición, un plato principal o un postre para compartir. La parroquia proporcionará hamburguesas y perritos calientes hasta agotar existencias. Se reservarán algunos asientos en las mesas para personas mayores y con movilidad reducida.
¿Asistirá a la misa de las 12:00 p. m.? Habrá voluntarios disponibles antes de la misa para recibir su comida y mantenerla caliente o fría hasta que comience el picnic.
También necesitamos carpas plegables prestadas. Pueden dejarlas después de la misa de las 5:30 pm del sábado 19 de septiembre y recogerlas después de las 4:00 pm del domingo.

St. Matthew Parish Picnic!

Join us on Sunday, September 20, for our Parish Picnic! Come enjoy an afternoon of good food, fellowship, and fun with our parish family. We’ll also have games and activities for the kids!
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, and begin setting up at 1:00 pm We’ll say grace and begin serving at 1:30 pm.
This is a potluck, so please bring a salad, side dish, entrée, or dessert to share. The parish will provide burgers and hot dogs while supplies last. Limited table seating will be reserved for seniors and those with mobility needs.
Attending the 12:00 pm Mass? Volunteers will be available before Mass to receive your dish and keep it warm or cold until the picnic begins.
We are also looking to borrow pop-up canopies. You may drop off canopies after the 5:30 pm Mass on Saturday, September 19, and pick them up after 4:00 pm on Sunday.
We still need a few volunteers Sunday morning. If you can help, please contact Sue Unger at [email protected].
Please note: The west parking area north of the school gym will be closed on picnic day.

Invitamos a todos los Ministros Extraordinarios de la Eucaristía de la parroquia —tanto a quienes la distribuyen en Misa como a los enfermos— a participar en una reunión especial en español el sábado 26 de septiembre, de 9:00 a 11:30 am. Registration for Confirmation preparation opened TODAY. If you have a young person who is ready to take the next step in their faith and prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, we invite you to register.

More information about the program and registration is available through the parish office and on our parish website. We look forward to accompanying our young people as they grow in faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pope Leo XIV asks us to pray “For the care of water”

Water, the “source of fruitfulness, freshness, and hope,” as the Pope says, is a scarce, unsafe, and inaccessible resource for millions of people. For this reason, Pope Leo XIV is dedicating his prayer intention for September to the care of water as the Season of Creation begins. Through the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network’s Pray with the Pope campaign, the Holy Father invites the faithful and all people of goodwill to join in his prayer that humanity might learn to safeguard water with gratitude, justice, and responsibility, recognizing it as “a right without borders.”

Last winter, our parish began offering women the opportunity to come together once a week to pray before Jesus in the Eucharist, for the return to the Catholic faith of our family and friends. This group is called Millions of Monicas, in honor of St. Agustin’s mom, who never gave up hope that her son would return to the faith. The first meeting of the fall is planned for September 1 from 6 to 7 pm.
But we are at a crossroads. To continue offering this space weekly, we need three ladies in the parish willing to come a bit earlier to set up, facilitate, and welcome the women who attend. If you can do this for the community, please contact Karen; her number is in the list of groups and ministries in the bulletin. More information on this ministry is also in the bulletin.
