Parents do not need to have all the answers to disciple their children—they simply need to be faithful. Small, consistent moments of Scripture, prayer, and conversation can shape a child’s faith over time.

But family discipleship is not something parents are meant to do alone. The church has a vital role in coming alongside families—praying, encouraging, teaching, modeling faith, and reminding the next generation that they are surrounded by people who love Jesus.

Whether you are a parent, grandparent, teacher, volunteer, or church member, you have a part to play. Together, we can faithfully point the next generation to Jesus.

Family discipleship is more than a class, a conversation, or a Sunday morning—it’s choosing, again and again, to point the next generation to Jesus.

Every prayer. Every conversation. Every example. Every small act of faithfulness matters.

We can make a difference—and it starts at home.

The way we live matters—especially to the little eyes watching us.

Join us tomorrow for Family Discipleship: Raising Kids in a Digital World. We’ll spend the morning talking about how we can intentionally lead the next generation and help them navigate today’s world with a biblical foundation.

Discipling the next generation is something we get to do together as a church family, so this morning is for everyone. We can't wait to see you!

Who's watching you?

Whether you realize it or not, you're influencing someone. Just as others have shaped us by the way they lived, our lives are shaping those around us.

So ask yourself: Where am I leading the people who are watching me?

Your example matters more than you know. Who can you intentionally point toward Jesus this week?

Sunday we continued our Bible Shorts series by looking at the short book of 3 John and three different examples of influence—two worth following and one worth avoiding.

The way we live matters. Whether we realize it or not, our choices, attitudes, and faithfulness are setting an example for the people around us.

As we head into a new week, here’s a question worth carrying with us:

Is the example I’m setting pointing others toward Jesus?

We often feel like we have to choose—be kind or be honest. Keep the peace or say the hard thing.

But God never asks us to choose between love and truth.

Sometimes genuine love encourages. Sometimes it listens. And sometimes it means having the hard conversation or speaking truth when staying quiet would be easier.

Think about the people who have loved you most faithfully. Chances are, some of them have cared enough to tell you something you needed to hear, even when it wasn’t easy.

That wasn’t a failure of love. That was love doing its job.

This week, ask God to help you love the people around you well—with the courage to speak when needed, the wisdom to know when to listen, and the grace to do both with love.

We hear a lot about what it means to “love people well.”

But what does that actually look like?

2 John reminds us that genuine love is more than being nice or avoiding hard things. It’s choosing to walk in truth, practice discernment, and remain faithful to what God has said.

Real love is grounded in truth.

You don’t finish this race on your own strength. You finish because God is faithful to carry you.

Jude reminds us that God is able to keep us from falling and one day present us before Him with great joy—not because of our perfect record, but because of what Christ has already done.

Jesus didn’t say, “I am finished.” He said, “It is finished.” The work was done. The victory was won.

So when you feel weak, keep going. When the road gets hard, keep trusting. The same God who called you is the God who will keep you.

Finish well—not because you are strong enough, but because He is faithful.

When we lose sight of eternity, it’s easy for the things that matter most to lose their urgency.

Jude reminds us to keep our eyes fixed on Christ’s return—and to let that eternal perspective shape how we live and how we love others. When someone is struggling, doubting, or drifting, we respond with mercy, compassion, and a willingness to come alongside them.

Living with eternity in view changes how we live today. **Keep looking up. It will keep you grounded.**

Take a moment this week to ask God to help you live with eternity in view—and to show you who around you may need a little extra mercy and encouragement.
