This Memorial Day, we celebrate those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom here in the United States. We also learn, and are reminded, how we should revere this time from the Book of Esther for our sin freedom through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice as well, in today’s message (link below).

We all have experiences in our lives that become notable memories. Over time, while we don’t forget those days, we don’t think about them every day except milestones or anniversaries come around. The Jews faced a challenge from adversaries and when they overcame them, they established two days each year to celebrate and reflect on the victory they received from the Lord (“Purim”). In the US, we have a day too that we celebrate the American Women & Men that, through their sacrifice, fought for our freedom. Like Jesus and His sacrifice, we should remember Him and our American troops that delivered our victory.

Boxers do all they can before their boxing contest to rattle their opponents. They say things like they “don’t stand a chance”, “don’t have enough skills”, “are weak”, etc. Just because they say these things may not actually be the case! Joshua was encouraged to be bold & courageous, and trust the Lord no matter what circumstances looked like. God gives us that same courage to be Bold too!
