October is Pastor Appreciation Month!

This month, we want to take a moment to celebrate three very special people who mean so much to our Gayton family!

From our youngest children to our oldest generations, our pastors walk alongside us through life's joys and challenges, encouraging us in our faith, praying for us, teaching us, and reminding us of God's love and grace.

To Senior Pastor Rev. Bryon LePere, Youth, Young Adults & Discipleship Pastor Rev. Jennifer Mullins, and Kids Pastor Hillary Billingsley — thank you for your servant hearts, your faithful leadership, and the countless ways you pour your time, energy, and love into our church family. We are truly blessed to have each of you!

Hi GBC Family,

Several of you have seen the news of an earthquake off the coast of Panama and have inquired about any impact on our sister church of Pedregal Baptist Church and its surrounding community. I've messaged with Fito, and I am happy to report at this time there is no reported damage to the church or the immediate area. He did share that he has heard that some of the houses in the country side have had significant damage and that all flights are currently cancelled.

Please lift up Pedregal and the broader Panama community in prayer as they assess and respond to this event. As new information becomes available, we will seek to distribute that promptly.

We were blessed to welcome Gayton members and missionaries Rick and Donna Martin as our guest speakers. Rick and Donna currently serve in Ayacucho, Peru, sharing the love of Christ and serving the local community.

We would like to thank Ms. Larissa McMahan for her five years of faithful service as Kids Ministry Assistant alongside Pastor Hillary. Her dedication, kindness, and love for our children have made a lasting impact on the lives of so many here at Gayton.

You will be greatly missed, Larissa! As you begin your senior year of college, we pray that God will bless your journey, guide your steps, and continue to use you in wonderful ways. Thank you for being such an important part of our church family.

Gayton Baptist Church, located in the Short Pump area of Henrico County, VA, is seeking a Part-Time Piano Accompanist to join our worship ministry.

-Approximately 6 hours per week
-Starting at $20/hour (commensurate with experience)

We're looking for someone who is proficient in piano, comfortable accompanying both traditional hymns and contemporary worship music, and excited to serve alongside our worship team in leading our congregation in worship.

Looking for a fun Sunday morning? We've got something for everyone!

Sixth graders - adults are invited to join us for worship at 10:00 AM, where Rev. Bryon LePere will continue our series in Mark with a message titled "The Burial of Jesus" (Mark 15:42–47). We'll also celebrate Baptism Sunday as we rejoice with those publicly professing their faith in Christ.

While adults are in worship, children will have an engaging morning in:
-Nursery
-Preschool Worship
-Elementary Worship, where Pastor Hillary will teach "God Cares for Us" from Psalm 23

Then, at 11:00 AM, the fun continues! Families whose children attended Kids Ministry that morning are invited to the playground for popsicles (provided by Gayton), playtime, and fellowship. This is a family fellowship event, so parents are asked to remain with their children.

It's the perfect opportunity for kids to laugh and play, for parents to connect, and for everyone to enjoy a sweet summer treat together.

There will be no other Kids Min programming at this hour.

At 11:00 AM, we will also hold our Bible Study hour for 6th grade - adults, with classes for everyone!

Whether you're part of the Gayton family or visiting for the first time, we'd love to welcome you. Bring the kids, invite some friends, and plan to stay after worship—we can't wait to see you!

P.S. Our Youth Messy Game Night, scheduled for 6:00 PM that night has been postponed to due to the weather forecast. Stay tuned for the new date!

Happy Birthday, Rev. Bryon LePere! Although Gayton's Senior Pastor officially celebrates his birthday this Saturday, July 11, he received an early surprise when the QUEST campers sang "Happy Birthday" and presented him with a handmade card. His office and truck were also mysteriously decorated by a real party animal.
