There’s probably no living person who remembers when Bessie Fleming Henley first played the piano at Pilgrim Journey. All we know is that she played for every choir, at one time or another, for 40-50 years. From being the primary player, to being our go-to whenever we needed her, she had the fingers we relied on time and time again. She also served as a Deaconess for many years, and then later became a Deacon. She was soft-spoken, had a backbone of steel, and a heart of pure gold. She will be eternally missed.

The Homegoing Service for Deacon Bessie Henley will be here, Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 11am. Visitation will be at 10:30am. For those who are unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel, PJBC Media (https://www.youtube.com//).
