Has Jesus ever rebuked you and called you Satan? Well, Peter did... in the Sunday Gospel reading from this past weekend. What happened? After Jesus told his disciples about His forthcoming Passion, Death and Resurrection. Peter, who loves the Lord, pulls Christ aside and tells Him that can't happen. Why would Peter do that?

Well, it seems that Peter loves the Lord because He believes in Him. And yet, He does not approve of the methods in which God's will is to be done. How often do we do the same thing?

If we truly believe and love God, then we should also trust His plan of salvation and will for our lives... even and especially when it involves the Cross! His ways are not our ways!

It's the feast of St. Helena today 👑✝

Today we celebrate the feast day of our patroness and namesake, St. Helena! She was the mother of the Roman emperor Constantine and helped discover relics of Christ’s Passion, including the True Cross. Living from around the year 246 AD to 330 AD, St. Helena used her royal state of life to build up the Church in the early centuries rather than living selfishly. No matter what your state of life may be, the Lord is calling each one of us to be nothing less than saints!

St. Helena, pray for us!

Parish Picnic 2026 ☀️🌭🎬

On Sunday, our Cathedral family gathered at the fairgrounds for our annual parish picnic! Unlike last year which saw rain, this year we had absolutely perfect weather (especially for the kids shooting each other with sq**rt guns). What a gift to spend a fun Sunday afternoon with everyone before they head back to school!

On behalf of the Cathedral staff, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone that helped make the day possible! Keep praying for our parish family and the mission of the Cathedral in Helena!
