CONFIRMATION ORIENTATION THIS SUNDAY

Our Confirmation Orientation has been scheduled for Sunday, August 16th at 5:30 PM. It is a long standing tradition of the church to offer and encourage young people of a certain age the opportunity to make a public profession of their faith and baptism--a process called confirmation. The young people (at/around the time of 6th grade) experience a period of study (biblical studies, theology, church history, and more), fellowship, service, and an fun outing or two! If you know of a young person at this exciting time in their life, please contact Rev Matthew Smith. The classes will likely begin in the fall, though we want to begin planning the rest of the journey now! Confirmation Sunday will be held on All Saints Sunday, Nov. 1st.

HGUMC WOMEN’S APPRECIATION LUNCHEON
Women’s Appreciation Luncheon – Celebrating God’s Provision will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Join us for a special afternoon of fellowship, special music, and inspiring guest speakers as we celebrate God’s faithfulness and provision. There will also be door prizes, gifts, and many blessings! As part of our mission outreach, we will be collecting donations to provide reusable water bottles for the students at Walnut Grove Elementary School. Come join us for a wonderful time of fellowship, encouragement, and giving as we bless others together!

✏️🍎Here We Go Again!🍎✏️

Back to school. Three words that can excite, enthuse, encourage…
or upset…depress, even terrify!

Yes, going back to school creates so many emotions. Though whatever the case, It’s a brand new season. As believers, we aim to approach new seasons with faith, and hope, and love. That’s who we are.
And with that in mind, we share this prayer:

Holy God,
We pray that you continue to guide and protect our students and teachers and faculty…

We pray you to love and keep our parents and families, our coaches, our librarians, and our car pools…

We pray you protect the newly licensed drivers, and those who have been driving for decades…

Fill every team and club, every volunteer, every custodian and cafeteria with the light and love of Christ Jesus!

And we ask that you show us, O God, how each and every one of us can share, and be, your light in the darkness.

Send all who travel this new road, into your world as ministers and witnesses to your love.
