Based in Havre de Grace, Maryland, we offer a welcoming environment for all Jews and interfaith families. The wide range of programs and activities provide many opportunities to add meaning to our lives, and share pleasant experiences with friends and neighbors of the Jewish community. not only from Harford County, but also from Cecil County, northwest Delaware, and parts of Baltimore County. We celebrated our 50th Anniversary in April 2005. Our purpose is to build a strong and vibrant Jewish community, providing for the spiritual well being of our members today, and the foundation for the Jewish community in this region in the future. We invite you to join us for an upcoming event or service, and learn more about what makes Temple Adas Shalom the center for Jewish life in the greater Baltimore area. At Temple Adas Shalom, we believe that Judaism is enriched by diversity and strengthened by inclusion. We are a warm, inclusive community where everyone belongs. We joyfully welcome individuals and families of all backgrounds, including interfaith, LGBTQ+, and those new to Judaism. If only life ran on clean code. 💻📜

This week, we reach the grand finale of Leviticus with the double portion B’har-B’chukotai. After chapters of intricate Tabernacle blueprints, the Torah lays out a very straightforward algorithm for living in the Promised Land: IF you follow the commandments and look out for one another, THEN you will experience peace and abundance.

But as anyone who has ever tried to troubleshoot a problem knows, human nature is full of syntax errors. We don't always execute the logic perfectly.

The beauty of wrapping up this book is the reminder that even when our personal systems crash or we need to debug our mistakes, our community is the ultimate support network to help us reboot. When we finish a book of the Torah, we say Chazak, chazak, v'nitchazek—Be strong, be strong, and let us strengthen one another!

See you this Shabbat to close out the book, TAS family! ✨

The lineup just dropped. 🎟️⛺️🎶

This week’s Torah portion (Emor) outlines the definitive master calendar of the Jewish year, including the three major Pilgrimage Festivals (Pesach, Shavuot, and Sukkot). Long before modern music festivals, the Israelites were packing up their tents and traveling to Jerusalem to celebrate the harvest and reconnect.

Grab your passes and we will see you at Shabbat services this week! ✨

A message from last night's Mystery Event coordinator...

Listen up, people!
The Debbie Gribson release party was supposed to be the event of the decade, but the documentation is a disaster. I just went through the "official" files, and apparently, someone thought this was a solo shoot for the DJ.
While Casey Canyon looks great (as usual), I have about fifty photos of the DJ booth and zero of the actual talent or the crowd! I can’t market a record with just shots of the guy spinning the vinyl.
I know you all were hitting that Selfie Station pretty hard last night. I need those files on my desk—err, in the comments—immediately.
I need to see:
The guest of honor, Debbie Grinson (before the... unpleasantness).
Your best "Industry Professional" poses from the Selfie Station.
Any evidence of who was actually there to support the label.
Don’t make me come find you. Upload your evidence below so we can get this promotional cycle back on track!

Your baggage is en route. 🐐📍

This week’s Torah portion gives us the literal origin of the "scapegoat." In ancient times, the community's misdeeds were loaded up on a goat and sent into the wilderness.

Today, the second half of our portion (K'doshim) reminds us that being a holy community means doing the hard work of forgiveness, justice, and accountability together—no goats necessary!

Let's keep doing the work. See you at Shabbat services this week! 💙

Delete the app. Find your community. 💙

This week’s double Torah portion (Tazria-Metzora) features the original symptom checkers. But while ancient ailments required a 7-day isolation, the ultimate goal was always bringing people back together.

Life gets messy, but you never have to navigate it alone.
