Last night, we were honored to be part of the 5th Annual Cancer Walk & Butterfly Release hosted by the Mary Lanning Healthcare Foundation and the Mary Lanning Healthcare Morrison Cancer Center. What a beautiful evening filled with hope, strength, encouragement, and community. 💜🦋

From just 50 walkers in the first year to now hundreds of participants and survivors walking together, this event is a powerful reminder that no one fights alone. Stories were shared, tears were shed, hugs were given, and hope was lifted high as our community came together to support those battling cancer and to remember those we hold close in our hearts.

The Hope & Healing Program supported through this event provides incredible services at no cost to cancer patients and their loved ones — including counseling and support groups, wigs and hair services, skincare and makeup guidance during treatment, prosthetics, compression garments, and so much more. These services bring comfort, dignity, healing, and hope during some of life’s hardest moments.

First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is honored to be a sponsor of this amazing event through donations from our Local Benevolence Fund. This is what being the hands and feet of Jesus looks like — caring for our neighbors, walking beside those who are hurting, and supporting causes that touch so many lives in our community.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…” — Isaiah 40:31

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and shared in this meaningful evening. Together, we continue to bring hope and healing to others. 💜

Our church family mourns the loss of our dear brother in Christ, John Hohlen, who has gone home to be with the Lord.

While our hearts are saddened, we find comfort in God's promises and in the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

Please join us in praying for John's family during this difficult time. Obituary and service details are available at the link below:

May God's grace and peace surround all who loved John.
