Today marks twelve years since this incredible soul went home. The rest of us were left here to continue to fight the good fight. After his death, we questioned and even doubted at times if anything could ever be the same. We have since learned that the answer to that question is a resounding, No. And yes! Bob left an impact and mark on us so deep, his absence is still palpable. And we as a ministry can never continue on without him in the exact same way. His leadership can’t be replicated. However, what has remained is God’s faithfulness, goodness, love provision and guidance. What has remained is the fire ignited within us to disciple others. Other leaders, teachers and volunteers have risen up to participate in the mission to develop others who desire to know God with all of their hearts, strength, souls and minds. To know Christ as their life. So yes, it will never be the same without him. It’s not supposed to be. But God is faithful and unchanging and He alone determines the days of ministry here at the Hill. We were taught by example by one of the best. And oh, how greatful we are. We remember you, Bob, today and every day. See you soon.

For several years we have offered a weekend in August for you to join us for a deep dive into the book of Romans. For some, this retreat provides an environment for Bible study leaders to come and discuss their thoughts or ask questions they are pondering. Some may have never read this book of the Bible and are curious to see what it is all about. We have families who bring their older children to help develop a strong foundation of these life transforming biblical truths and college students who are eager to join their friends for a great time to study and  hang out . Who ever you are, this weekend is for you! So make your plans now to come join us August 21 through the 23rd.
We do ask that you register at www.lifeonthehill.org so we can plan accordingly for meals.

Grace has different definitions, depending on how it’s being used .  In the context of living our daily lives Paul David Tripp says this about Grace. “Grace means God has given us everything we need to be what he wants us to be and to do what he calls us to do in the situation where he has placed us (2 Peter 1:3). We have a new identity and new potential, so we can face the difficult realities of life without crumbling in fear”.

To show you what his grace means as it relates to your daily experiences.  His desire is for us to live Knowing him and his true character which is grace and love.

We had 19 incredible seniors at camp this year. They might just change the world.

The last day of camp is hard on everyone. Some campers have been attending for five years and are now moving on. We watch them change, grow and establish friendships with them. Campers, like all of us live in a world that is hard and attempts to distract them from what is real and true. We pray  until we see them again that The Spirit of The Lord gives them nuggets of truth to hang on to, reminding them that they are loved and safe within his hands. Sending them on their way bone tired after a week saturated with God’s word, precious fellowship and the most glorious worship through music is sweet and fulfilling.  Many times we aren’t allowed to see the eternal impact in their lives. Not now anyway. But one day we believe it will all be crystal clear.

What a great start to our week.
Camp at the hill from the very beginning has always been known for its morning work groups. To some this might not sound appealing, but we get very few complaints from the campers.
 The goal of working together in the mornings is to build community and friendships. And sometimes they even learn a new skill. But mostly it allows counselors to work side-by-side with the students, something we have found that the Lord uses to spark great conversations about himself.

How does summer camp roll around so quickly? Yet here we are again for the 36th time. There are new faces and new adventures, and God, as always, drawing some to enter into a saving relationship with him. For others, He will encourage us to walk more closely with Him and develop as believers. Either way, He is pursuing us this week. Please pray for all who are here for Summer Youth Leadership Camp.

We have had a couple of last minute openings for our year-round, onsite Resident Discipleship Program. If you know of a young man, 18-25, who wants to propel his walk with the Lord to another level and help define his course for life, please pass along the info.
