Our words can be powerful.

The words we use can encourage someone, repair a relationship, and create hope. They can also wound, divide, and spread harm far beyond the moment in which they were spoken.

Jesus reminds us, “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” – Matthew 12:34

Our words often reveal what is happening within us, and sometimes…the intention behind our words doesn’t match their impact.

This Sunday, we continue our series, Captive Minds & Careful Words. Our sermon will come from James 3:1–12, and is entitled, "Taming the Tongue."

In this sermon we will explore what it means to practice Renovated Speaking as we learn to Think Wisely, Speak Graciously, and Love Faithfully.

We'll also ask an important question:

Do the words we use open or close a door for others to encounter the love of Jesus Christ?

When we allow Jesus to renovate our speaking, we become a people who open doors into sanctuary rather than people who close them.

Join us this Sunday, August 23rd, for one combined service at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary as we grow in the grace of “Taming the Tongue.”

In Christ’s Service,
Pastor Randy

Meet VegansCNY—a small band of vegan friends who gather twice a month in Syracuse, NY, not simply to hand out meals, but to practice a ministry of presence.
They show up with healthy vegan food, yes—but even more, they show up with relationship, dignity, and care.

One of their leaders told me, “Bishop, I don’t know if we are bringing people to Christ, but at least 150–200 folks have a healthy meal and feel seen and valued.”
And I replied:
“Bringing people to Christ? You’re doing something equally powerful.
You are bringing Christ to them.
You are showing up when you could have been anywhere else.
You are sharing why you do this, embodying His love, gifting people with hope, and inspiring other vegans to join you in this holy practice of feeding the hungry.”

This is what bold love, joyful service, and courageous leadership look like—ordinary people choosing to show up, informed by their faith in Christ, choosing compassion, choosing to make sure strangers become neighbors and neighbors become family.

Welcome to Mosaic Community Church!

Mosaic Community Church was born in 2023 from a simple vision: a group of people from Halifax, Pennsylvania who wanted to grow and worship together in a loving, welcoming environment while serving our community.
That vision is what drives us today.

You'll find us at 791 Enders Road, just north of Halifax, PA — in the old Enders-Fisherville Elementary School.

Join us every Sunday at 10:30 am as Pastor Matt Jenkins leads us in worship.

We're building a community that's loving, welcoming, open, and affirming — and we'd love for you to be part of it as God leads us on this journey together. Our hope is simple: to be a church that welcomes well, loves well, and serves well.

Come as you are. We can't wait to meet you! 💛

It’s with a heavy heart that we share some very sad news from Camp Hebron. On Saturday afternoon (July 18th), there was a medical emergency involving our Executive Director, Deke Rider, that resulted in his passing. We respect the family’s privacy, and our prayers are with them at this time.

We have made several adjustments to our upcoming camp week. Our team, though mourning, is leaning into Jesus and preparing to serve well for the remainder of our summer season. We are grateful for the community that has surrounded us thus far with prayer and support. Our hope is that our campers, guests, and larger Camp Hebron community are able to continue connecting with God, nature, and each other for the remainder of our summer season. We know that we serve a big God and trust that He will provide the comfort, strength, and peace needed at this time.

Mosaic Community Church is deeply saddened by the unexpected loss of Deke. He was an important part of our church's journey over the past three years, and without his generosity, that journey would have been so much harder. He never said no when we needed help, and he showed up for others just as faithfully as he did for us.

Coming so soon after the recent loss of our pastor, JoAnne Konick-McMahan, this is difficult for our community to process. Our prayers, love, and support go out to Deke's family, and camp staff, whose grief is far greater than our own.

Hello everyone. Just a friendly reminder that the services for JoAnne Konick-Mcmahan are this Saturday, July 18, at Camp Hebron (see details in obituary below). The family asks that everyone dress casual and wear yellow as it was her favorite color. ❤️

Celebrate the life of Joanne Konick-McMahan and join others in sharing memories, stories, and condolences.
